PERTH SCORCHERS v SYDNEY SIXERS: Our cricket tipster The Edge previews the Big Bash Eliminator on Saturday with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

MATCH OVERVIEW:

The Big Bash Playoffs continue on Saturday with all cricket bets 0% Commission on BETDAQ Betting Exchange! We hit Docklands Stadium for the Qualifier as Perth Scorchers take on Sydney Sixers. We’ve had a very chaotic season in the Big Bash this year with Covid19 running wild in Australia for the first time, but these two sides have pretty much remained the top two. They started the competition strongly and although the Sixers had to fight off the Thunder for second, these two have looked the top two teams.

Perth Scorchers finished five points clear in the end, and they have definitely looked deserving of top spot. They haven’t been without their own Covid19 issues of course, as every team has been affected at some point. The Sixers will welcome back Nathan Lyon and you’d imagine he will enjoy conditions here too. The Sixers don’t really have a major star but they do have an excellent team who really work well together – that’s why they’re going for three Big Bash titles in a row!

This should be a top class game, and it will be very interesting to see who comes out on top. The Sixers haven’t been as strong last season as the last two seasons, but obviously they have had a well drilled side and that has been changed this year due to Covid19. Perth Scorchers managed to come out on top twice when the sides met in the Group stage, and perhaps the Sixers won’t make it three in a row this year! That being said, the loser gets another go at the final so there isn’t too much pressure here.

WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:

Docklands has been reasonably high scoring this season. The two recent successful chases came with Melbourne Renegades and Brisbane Heat batting first and they were by far and away the two worst teams in the competition this season. They actually finished on the same point of views with just three wins each, ten points away from the next placed team! I would assume another high scoring game and you’d want to be aiming for 180 batting first. I don’t think there’s a question about what to do at the toss here, batting first has provided a little edge – get the runs on the board.

RECOMMENDED BET:

This should be a top class game, but Perth Scorchers look at the value at 1.8 for me. As I said above, they have already beaten Sydney Sixers twice this season and they just look very solid this year. They always seem to be in control, and if Plan A doesn’t work they usually go to Plan B or Plan C quickly. They have chased and defending successfully against the Sixers, but I would be very confident if they batted first. They have the power to put up a big score here and their batting has looked very good this season which wasn’t always the case – it was generally their bowling that kept them in games but they look the complete package this season.

The Edge Says:
Three points win Perth Scorchers to beat Sydney Sixers at 1.8 with BETDAQ Exchange.

Both sides have a lot of talent here, so there will be plenty of angles for everyone. You can trust both sides with the bat and ball, but I believe the Scorchers will have a slight edge in both departments in this game. I feel the biggest edge to focus on here will be getting on the team batting first as that has looked like a slight edge so far this season. If that was Perth Scorchers, I’d be very confident they can set a god score and they have excellent bowling to defend it too. The openers have looked good for the Sixers, so I’d target a quick trade on them but I wouldn’t stay in the market for long.
