MATCH OVERVIEW:

The Indian Premier League moves back to Abu Dhabi on Saturday as the Kolkata Knight Riders take on Sunrisers Hyderabad! It’s very early days in the tournament of course, but both sides will be desperate for a win as they both lost their opening fixture. Hyderabad didn’t have luck on their side in their chase against RCB, but KKR were completely out-played by Mumbai Indians and that has to be a worry for them going forward.

KKR conceded 195/5 and then could only manage 146/9 in reply, Rohit Sharma was the star of the show for Mumbai but KKR didn’t fire. Narine conceded 22 runs off his 4 overs while taking one wicket, but if teams know they can just play him out and attack the other bowlers then it’s going to be a long tournament for KKR. None of the KKR stars fired with the bat against Mumbai, and they really need scores from Karthik, Morgan and Russell as the rest of the batting looks weak. Narine won’t always fire opening the batting.

It should be an interesting game. After seeing Mitchell Marsh try to bat against RCB, you’d have to imagine he won’t play here. Hyderabad have a lot of overseas options though.

WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:

This will be the third fixture here and we have had first inning scores of 162/9 (chased down) and 195/5 (won by 49 runs) so far. Conditions look good for batting, with KKR having the advantage of experiencing them already – although they did concede 195/5! They will no doubt be spending their days off trying to improve their tactical bowling, but I would expect to side batting first has to be aiming for 180ish given how easy it looked to chase 162 in the opening game.

The weather has been beautiful in the UAE, and that should continue so we can expect a full game.

RECOMMENDED BET:

I thought KKR were a shade of value against Mumbai Indians and worth a small bet, however I was very disappointed by their performance. Their bowling was particularly bad, and Narine can’t win games on his own. I will keep an open mind with them going forward, but Hyderabad look like a much more solid team compared to KKR and I’m happy to take the 1.85 on them here. I think they will out-bowl KRR and that will be where the game is won. I expect another reasonably high scoring game.

The Edge Says:
Two points win Sunrisers Hyderabad to beat Kolkata Knight Riders at 1.85 with BETDAQ Exchange.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:

Abu Dhabi has looked good for batting so far, so I would start the game by looking for trades on the team batting first. Especially if that turns out to be Hyderabad as KKR were so poor with the ball the other night. The only KKR bowler I would be happy to support is Narine, and you shouldn’t have any open trades on the batting team while he is bowling.

Outside of the strong middle order for KKR, I would be happy to be against the openers and the tail after Russell. They look poor on paper, and haven’t got a good domestic line-up. We should see some changes to the Hyderabad side, but they look solid and should be reliable with the bat here.
