MATCH OVERVIEW:

We’re in Abu Dhabi on Sunday as Delhi Capitals take on Sunrisers Hyderabad for a place in the Indian Premier League 2020 Final. The pressure is on, and both sides have had very different journeys here. Delhi look woefully out of form with bat and ball after a very impressive start to the tournament, while Hyderabad look to be peaking at just the right time. They have had a few crunch matches and came through – a fascinating afternoon lies ahead.

Apart from their recent win against Royal Challengers Bangalore to secure second place, Delhi have been pretty much hammered in every other game. They lost by 57 runs against Mumbai on Thursday after conceding 200/5. Prior to beating RCB, they lost by nine wickets, 88 runs, 59 runs and five wickets. Those are heavy defeats, and it’s fair to say that no skill is working. Their bowling has really dropped off and that has put pressure on the batters. After starting the tournament in such good form, the batters have started to fail under the pressure. It’s a very difficult thing to turn around too.

Delhi conceded 219/2 to Sunrisers Hyderabad in Dubai only last week. And while the game was close to over after that, Hyderabad bowled them out for 131. Even though Delhi came here from the top two, it is Hyderabad who have all the momentum and form coming into this one.

WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:

Thankfully the weather is set fair as it has been all tournament, it’s been fantastic. Hyderabad played here on Friday in the first Eliminator and RCB could only manage 131/7 and Hyderabad took 19.4 overs to chase it. Indeed, they needed two fours in the final over to win. RCB’s 131/7 involved a 50 from AB de Villiers so while it was an under par score, it didn’t look a woeful score. The fixture before that saw Delhi chase down 152/7 from RCB and last weekend CSK chased down 153/6 from Punjab. I would suggest the team batting first should aim for 165. That seems a good score to defend in a pressure game.

RECOMMENDED BET:

I have been very happy to be against Delhi for a while and I’m happy to be against them today too. I just can’t see how they turn things around in such a short space of time. Suddenly they look a bowler or two short and their batters look out of form too. They need an innings of 100+ from someone who steps up and takes on the game, but I can’t see that happening. Hyderabad are battle hardened after winning some do or die games, and they have better bowling than Delhi at the moment. They hammered them recently and I really like the Hyderabad price at 1.88.

The Edge Says:
Three points win Sunrisers Hyderabad to beat Delhi Capitals at 1.88 with BETDAQ Betting.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:

Despite being confident on the Hyderabad win, this could be an excellent game to trade on BETDAQ Betting Exchange. In the first innings we could see plenty of flip flopping favourites. We have had plenty of successful chases here recently, but it has been mainly down to the team batting first failing to set a decent score. I would be keen to support Hyderabad if they batted first, as the Delhi bowling looks weak at the moment and Hyderabad got 219/2 against them in Dubai. We won’t see 200+ here bar some amazing scenes, but we could easily see a very good score if Hyderabad bat first.

I would also be happy to be against the top four Delhi batsmen. They looked class at the start of the tournament, but they have fell out of form as the tournament goes on. You could get a lot of ticks being against them, and then their middle order isn’t strong once the top four are gone. That has been their main issue really, the tail isn’t winning games for them and the top order are out of form.
