ENGLAND v PAKISTAN: Our cricket tipster The Edge previews Sunday’s 2nd T20 between ENGLAND v PAKISTAN with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

MATCH OVERVIEW:

Pakistan have finally found their form with the bat and they’re going for a T20 series win over England when the sides meet at Headingley on Sunday. After scoring 331/9 in the 3rd ODI (and still losing!), they followed that up with 232/6 in the 1st T20 on Friday evening and won by 31 runs. I have to say it’s still a little worrying that they conceded 201 runs, and England also chased the 331/9 in the 3rd ODI so the jury is still definitely out on the Pakistan bowling. We should have another excellent game for trading on BETDAQ Betting Exchange.

The good thing about the Pakistan innings on Friday is a lot of batsmen chipped in. The top five all scored 19 or more and they all had a strike rate of over 150. Even Maqsood who only scored 19 batted at a strike rate of 271. This was made a lot easier by the fact the openers put together a partnership of 150, which is always going to put you in the driving seat. England started badly in reply, but Livingstone could a superb 100 – he managed 103 off just 43 balls which is an incredible knock.

Even though England got back some of their stars after their Covid isolation, they still aren’t at their best. After getting into the T20 side for brilliant bowling in the ODI’s, Mahmood conceded 46 runs off his four overs. I know all the bowlers will have poor figures with so many runs scored, but it will be interesting to see what England do. Regardless of who bowls, the batters need to perform better and England need more runs from the likes of Bairstow and Morgan.

WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:

We had a very high scoring game at Trent Bridge, but as I said before Friday that is usually a very high scoring ground. I would say the same about Headingley too. We can see some very high scores here in the T20 Blast. In the 2019 season, we had an average score batting first of 184. I haven’t looked at the 2020 season because it was played at a different time with Covid. This is also the first International T20 at the ground, so we have no International data to go off. I would expect another high scoring game, but 180+ expected although I’m sure both sides will be aiming higher after Friday!

RECOMMENDED BET:

Although Pakistan have found their scoring boots with the bat, their bowlers still aren’t in form. England probably needed the “run out” on Friday after their break with Covid and I would expect them to improve in this game. Bairstow, Ali and Morgan need to perform better, however they would have benefitted from the game time on Friday. We should have another close game, but it’s England for me at 1.66 or bigger. They conceded a lot of runs on Friday, but I feel the Pakistan bowlers are still there for the taking and we could see a very high score from England.

The Edge Says:
One point win England to beat Pakistan at 1.66 with BETDAQ Betting Exchange

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:

Although England didn’t chase down Pakistan’s big score on Friday, there was so many runs it paid to look for trades on the batting side. I feel we’ll have a very similar game here, especially when you look at the data from the T20 Blast. The Pakistan bowlers still look out of form to me, so I will be happy to go against them. And England’s bowling is always worth taking on in the one day format for a trade – their batters usually get them out of a jam that the bowlers put them in. We should have another high scoring game, so focus on trades on the batting side for this game.
