SUNDAY IPL: Our cricket tipster The Edge previews Sunday’s IPL Game 48 between Royal Challengers Bangalore v Punjab Kings with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

MATCH OVERVIEW:

We’re really getting down to the business end of the Indian Premier League now and we have another massive double header on Sunday. I’m going to focus on the first game again here on BETDAQ Betting Exchange as Royal Challengers Bangalore take on Punjab Kings. Royal Challengers Bangalore started their UAE stint slowly with two losses in their opening two games, but they have come roaring back with two wins in a row now. Impressively chasing down 149 against Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday. That has put them in a strong position again for the Playoffs, but they need to keep winning.

You can tell looking at the table that it’s going to be a good finish for the Playoff spots. CSK and Delhi Capitals will probably finished first and second, and then Mumbai Indians and KKR are really fighting for the last Playoff spot – should RCB keep winning that is; they could easily fall back into the mix. Punjab Kings finished last season strongly and they won’t be ruling themselves out either. Everything is to play for and it’s an excellent sign for RCB that Glenn Maxwell looks in superb touch in the middle order. This should be a good game between two sides full of hitters – but will conditions allow them to hit sixes?

WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:

The wicket looks very tough to bat at Sharjah at the moment. I don’t want to read too much into the Sunrisers Hyderabad v CSK game because I feel Sunrisers Hyderabad aren’t a good side, but we saw another low score here on Thursday with Sunrisers getting 134/7 – CSK needed 19.4 overs to chase it too. This will be the second day game over the weekend, and your best guide might be looking at Saturday’s game and trying to gauge will conditions be the same here. With batting so tough, it seems better to chase because the side batting first keep falling short.

RECOMMENDED BET:

We saw another two low scores here in the last two games. Conditions have been tough in general here though, so I would keep stakes low given it’s so tricky to bat. I felt KKR would beat Punjab Kings at the weekend but they chased down 165/7 very well. I do like the RCB here however – they have the world class batsmen to try and overcome the batting conditions and also the conditions might not suit the Punjab Kings hitters. RCB look the value at 1.75, but keep stakes small.

The Edge Says:
One point win Royal Challengers Bangalore to beat Punjab Kings at 1.75 with BETDAQ Betting Exchange

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:

I think we’ve seen enough games here to form a decent in-running strategy. I do think that RCB will be the main side here, and I would want to angle my book towards them for most of the game. I’ll be keen to get against Punjab Kings when batting as I don’t see conditions suiting their side. Looking at the game we have had here, it seems shrewd to look for trades on the side bowling first – hopefully that’s RCB as I would be more confident if it was them rather than Punjab Kings. Basically you won’t go too far wrong looking for trades on the bowling side here given the conditions!
