THE EDGE: Our cricket tipster The Edge previews Thursday’s Caribbean Premier League clash between Barbados Royals v Jamaica Tallawahs with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

MATCH OVERVIEW:

The Caribbean Premier League continues on Thursday as Barbados Royals and Jamaica Tallawahs clash in Trinidad. We should have a very competitive match here, and it should be good for trading on BETDAQ Betting Exchange. Barbados made it six from six earlier this week, and they have looked the best team in the competition this season. The way things have worked out this week, there’s a huge battle for the other playoff places. Jamaica Tallawahs currently sit in second, but there really isn’t much in it with everyone in the mix. We should find out who is out of the mix towards the end of this week, but it’s going to be an exciting race for second and third.

Barbados Royals have been pretty much faultless with their 100% record – given the short nature of the tournament without a long list of teams, these sides have already met each other. Barbados Royals won with one ball left, but they had eight wickets spare. Perhaps it got more dramatic than it needed to be after they lost a wicket in the 17th over, but they were always in control of the chase. Quinton de Kock and David Miller have lead the way with the bat. Miller seems to have his confidence back now after a terrible time in the Hundred with Welsh Fire who were terrible.

We obviously have two very talented teams here, but Barbados Royals have been superb and it’s hard to see past them. They have the batting to see of the Jamaica bowlers, and if they can win that battle that will go a long way to winning the game.

WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:

This is another game to keep an eye on the radar – we haven’t had a washout since the opening week, but we have had showers around. We had duckworth lewis on Wednesday, so it’s just going to pay to watch the radar. The showers are short, but they are heavy and do damage. As expected the opening games have been reasonably low scoring, and chasing has offered a slight edge too. That was to be expected, and so far things have gone as we thought based on the ground data. Although it was hard to be confident in the opening games because of the gap in cricket here, we can be a little more confident now.

RECOMMENDED BET:

Although I expect a high quality game here, I can’t see past Barbados here and I’m very happy to take the 1.72 or bigger on offer. As I said above, they have looked by far the best side in the competition and their batting looks full of confidence at the moment. It will be interesting to see how they perform on this wicket because it is on the tougher side. I wouldn’t say there is much between the two sides bowling wise, but the batting from Barbados Royals is going to win the game here in my opinion.

The Edge Says:
Three points win Barbados Royals to beat Jamaica Tallawahs at 1.72 with Betdaq Exchange.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:

Although I said not to be too confident in the ground data in the opening games here, I do feel we can be more confident now. Chasing has looked like an edge here in the past, and we saw success for the chasing teams early on. I would expect everyone will want to bowl first here, and I would be happy supporting the side who bowls first given batting has looked difficult. I do feel Barbados Royals have the better batting so they might be able to handle conditions better, but I wouldn’t say on either batting side for long. I feel the best trade might be taking on the Jamaica Tallawahs while batting.
