MATCH OVERVIEW:

The Indian Premier League returns to Abu Dhabi on Tuesday when the Delhi Capitals will be bidding to go three from three! It’s a completely different story for the Sunrisers Hyderabad however as they have lost their opening two games. We’ve had some poor performances from teams and Hyderabad will know they aren’t the worst team in the competition, but the pressure is always on for the first win and the longer it takes the greater the pressure.

Another factor too is with these International T20 leagues is, how long before players lose interest? 90% are here to play positive cricket but there is 10% here for the money. It’s just the way of the world now, and it has certainly come into cricket in recent years. Anyway; Hyderabad need a win soon! I don’t think it will come today however, as Delhi have been pretty impressive.

Not much went right for Delhi in their opening game against Punjab, but they somehow managed a tie and won the Super Over. Perhaps Punjab threw the game away more than Delhi winning it, but they got the job done nonetheless. They were very impressive when beating CSK in Dubai, posting 175/3 and then keeping CSK down to 131/7 – impressive given CSK’s batting line-up.

WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:

This will be the fourth game at Abu Dhabi. The first inning scores have been 162/9 (chased in 19.2 overs), 195/5 (won by 49 runs) and 142/4 (chased in 18 overs). Cricket is a funny oul game. After KKR and Hyderabad played here, the man of the match for KKR said it wasn’t spinning much and easy to hit down the ground. The losing Hyderabad captain said it was a tough wicket to accelerate on! Hyderabad will have the added average of playing here only a few days ago, but they played too many dot balls. Once again the weather is set fair with no issues.

RECOMMENDED BET:

We have another very even market before the off, with very little between the sides. I have to say that Delhi have impressed me in their opening two games. They did well to pull it back with the bat after a poor start against Punjab and were excellent against CSK. Hyderabad have been disappointing twice – their batting here against KKR was poor and too slow. That might be an issue for them going forward if Bairstow gets out early. I like the Delhi squad and they’re playing well – they can make it three from three here.

The Edge Says:
Two points win Delhi Capitals to beat Sunrisers Hyderabad at 1.94 with BETDAQ Exchange.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:

Despite the difference in opinion between KKR and Hyderabad here on Saturday, I think there will be something in the wicket for the bowlers. Of course, they have to put it in the right areas and at the right speed, but cutters and slower balls can go well here. From a trading point of view you don’t want to be on the batting team for long when the pitch is behaving like that – however finding momentum trades in the last few overs could pay handsomely.

Delhi have some big hitters in the mid-to-lower order with Stoinis looking in good form. Dhawan should go well on this pitch too and their bowlers look in good form. Axar Patel went very well in his last game, but it was Anrich Nortje that did the damage. With Hyderabad batting slow, they could be worth opposing when Warner and Bairstow are out. With a starting price of close to 2.0 the pair, the market should bounce around for a while with plenty of flip flops.
