ENGLAND v PAKISTAN: Our cricket tipster The Edge previews Tuesday’s 3rd T20 between ENGLAND v PAKISTAN with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

MATCH OVERVIEW:

This should be a cracker! England and Pakistan meet on Tuesday at Old Trafford in a series decider after England bounced back to level the series on Sunday. Although Pakistan have improved their batting in the last three games on the tour, their bowling still remains a serious issue and they conceded 200 runs again on Sunday. Since Pakistan have improved with the bat, the bowlers have still conceded 332/7 in an ODI, 223 and 200 in the two T20’s.

Pakistan got off to a flying start on Sunday, but you’re always under pressure chasing 200 and as soon as the opening partnership was broken at 54/0 after 5.4 overs it was always a struggle from there. England can improve too, they ended up all out for 200 and some of their returning stars have yet to fire. Morgan didn’t play on Sunday, but Jason Roy only managed 10 and Jonny Bairstow 13. Buttler lead the way with 59 off 39, and it’s a classic case of “if he doesn’t get you, they will” with this England batting. Someone always stars. Even Moeen Ali’s knock of just 36 was superb because it came off just 16 balls.

Everything we’ve seen so far with this T20 series points to an excellent game today and we should have another run fest full of drama with plenty of twists in-running on BETDAQ Betting Exchange. England don’t need to change much, I know they went for a lot of runs in the 1st T20 but that can happen at Trent Bridge and bowling was never England’s strong point. From a Pakistan point of view, they really need to improve their bowling but they just haven’t fired on this tour.

WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:

It was a scorcher on Sunday and it’s set to be another very hot day. Thankfully for the fans this game doesn’t start until 6-30pm, because the 2-30pm start on Sunday must have been tough sitting in the sun. It’s set to be 28 degrees or hotter on Tuesday, and we usually get a good wicket here when the weather is good. I would go into the game expecting a very good wicket for batting and more runs, however be very careful as the pitch can get very dry at Old Trafford. With the very hot weather we have been having, perhaps we could see some spin in the wicket. That’s definitely something to watch out for, and see does the wicket start to slow down as we come to the end of the middle overs in the first innings.

RECOMMENDED BET:

As I noted above in the pitch report, conditions could favour Pakistan if the wicket becomes very dry. That can easily happen given the weather, but I’m sure England have asked for a good wicket and the groundsman should be able to deliver that. Pakistan bowlers have been out of form, but they might welcome dry conditions! England looked in superb touch on Sunday though, they scored 200 and actually could have gone higher – you can see there is room for improvement, especially with Roy and Bairstow not really scoring. I think we’ll have another very enjoyable game, but it’s England for me at 1.53 or bigger. I feel Pakistan’s bowling will let them down again.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:

So far in the T20 series it had paid to get on the team batting first. I can really see that strategy working again here for two reasons. One, if we have very good batting conditions we can see another big score – even if it’s chased down later in the game, the market is going to move in your favour and it gives you plenty of trading opportunities being on the batting side. And two, if we do have a slow and dry wicket, the side batting first gets best use of conditions. I would want to be on the batting team early in that case before trading out around the eight to ten over mark.

I would be keen to look for most of my trades on the batting side in both innings, as Pakistan bowlers have been poor on this tour and bowling is never England’s strong point in the one day format. With the weather, we should have another excellent platform for the batters too.
