T20 WORLD CUP: Our cricket tipster The Edge previews Tuesday’s T20 World Cup match between SOUTH AFRICA v BANGLADESH with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

MATCH OVERVIEW:

We have a massive game for South Africa at the T20 World Cup on Tuesday as they take on Bangladesh in Abu Dhabi. Saturday couldn’t have gone much better for South Africa, they started the day with a win over Sri Lanka and then England hammered Australia in the afternoon. Given the net run rate situation in Group 1 it was a far better outcome for South Africa if England won that game, and now they are in the driving seat to finish second – at the moment!

South Africa’s net run rate moved them into second at the weekend and there’s quite a difference between themselves and Australia. Of course we all know that Australia already beat South Africa, and also South Africa still have to play England. The way the fixtures have worked out, that’s actually the last game in Group 1. Perhaps that’s a good thing for South Africa, England may well be certain of first spot by then and decide to rest some players. For now though, they have to beat Bangladesh well. Bangladesh have lost their opening three games, and they also lost to Scotland in qualifying too – fair to say that they are having a desperate World Cup. This is a must win game for South Africa, with a loss highly likely meaning that they are out.

WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:

We had a day game here on Sunday, but it’s hard to read too much into that game because Afghanistan batted first against Namibia. They managed 160/5, and in truth a par score is probably a little lower than that because of the gulf in class there. In the two games before that, Scotland scored 109/8 and Bangladesh 124/9. We don’t have much current data the way the games have worked out, but I would definitely bowl first if I won the toss as that appears to be an edge here. A par score is probably 145 to 150 between two even teams.

RECOMMENDED BET:

Bangladesh have been very poor in this World Cup, and South Africa are worth backing here at 1.36 on BETDAQ Betting Exchange. I know South Africa have had a number of issues themselves, but they are a much better side than Bangladesh who just aren’t in form at the moment. Perhaps if Bangladesh were in better form, they might make this one close but South Africa should win here. All their selection issues seem to have been resolved and they are lucky Quinton de Kock backtracked on dropping out as he’s such a big player for them.

The Edge Says:
Three points South Africa to beat Bangladesh at 1.36 with BETDAQ Exchange.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:

There’s a couple of angles to look at here on BETDAQ Betting Exchange. While South Africa are a much better side than Bangladesh, they have been a little weak with the bat at times and batting can be very tricky here. I feel the side who bowls first is definitely worth a trade, I would just lower stakes if that was Bangladesh and keep stakes higher if it was South Africa. Anrich Nortje looks in superb form for South Africa too, and I would happily support him when he’s bowling. I’d also be keen to take on the Bangladesh openers for two reasons, they haven’t exactly set the world on fire recently and the South African new ball bowlers.
