THE EDGE: Our cricket tipster The Edge previews Wednesday’s T20 World Cup clash between Bangladesh v India with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

MATCH OVERVIEW:

All eyes at the T20 World Cup switch back to group 2 on Wednesday morning on BETDAQ Betting Exchange as Bangladesh clash with India at Adelaide. While this is a massive game after India lost to South Africa at the weekend, it’s absolutely blown up off the field as a video surfaced online of Virat Kohli’s hotel room in Perth. Basically, it looks like a member of staff went into Kohli’s room while he wasn’t there and recorded a video to upload to TikTok. It is just the way the world has gone these days that people shares these things, but you have to admit it’s an incredible thing to happen from a player privacy point of view.

It just highlights what the Indian superstars have to deal with wherever they go though! Kohli has spoken about this in the past, the fact it is depressing that people aren’t there to meet or talk to him, rather they just want a selfie with him for their own social media. Cricket in 2022! On the field, losing to South Africa at the weekend was a massive setback for India. They now come into this game level on points with Bangladesh, and granted they have some cushion because Zimbabwe beat Pakistan, if they lose this it would send shockwaves around world cricket.

India will come into this game as heavy favourites, and to be honest it’s hard to see any other result than an India win. There is a gulf in class between the sides, and Bangladesh haven’t fired yet at this tournament. They lost heavily to South Africa and they didn’t win clearly against Netherlands and Zimbabwe. Despite losing to South Africa, India have played good cricket but pressure is a funny thing. An interesting game awaits.

WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:

Wednesday is the first day that the T20 World Cup hits Adelaide, so we don’t have any recent ground conditions to go off. Netherlands and Zimbabwe play here earlier in the day, but there’s obviously a huge gulf in class between the likes of India and the early game. I wouldn’t fully judge conditions looking at the opening game, but it would be nice to see if there’s any spin in the wicket. Usually we can get two types of wicket at Adelaide looking at Big Bash cricket here, a very good wicket with plenty of runs and then a tricky spinning wicket. Either way I would be looking to bat first.

RECOMMENDED BET:

India come into the game as heavy favourites. They are trading as short as 1.18 at the time of writing. To be honest it’s hard to see past them, so I will just recommend a small bet at the odds. Bangladesh don’t have the batting quality to live with this Indian attack, and then the Indian batters have been in good touch too. They lost early wickets to South Africa, but the South African attack is much better with the new ball compared to Bangladesh. As I said above, I feel the only thing that beats India here is the pressure of needing to win.

The Edge Says:
One point win India to beat Bangladesh at 1.18 with Betdaq Exchange.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:

We’ve had a lot of rain already at this tournament, so it goes without saying to keep an eye on the radar and see what trades might arise from that. It’s definitely been worth it to follow Duckworth Lewis too – we saw that huge crash on Ireland to beat England after all! There is an obvious gulf in class between the sides here, but I feel the best edge on the field from a ground conditions point of view will come from batting first. I would just heavily reduce stakes if that is Bangladesh, but if India get to bat first then I would expect a big score and a 1.01 train.
