IPL GAME 6: Our cricket tipster The Edge previews Wednesday’s game 6 in the IPL between Sunrisers Hyderabad v Royal Challengers Bangalore with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

MATCH OVERVIEW:

This should be a very interesting game as we head back to Mumbai for Sunrisers Hyderabad v Royal Challengers Bangalore! RCB will be full of confidence after beating Mumbai Indians in their season opener – even though they finished with a wobble to beat the Champions from last season should give them a big boost. While Sunrisers Hyderabad will be disappointed with their opening performance against KKR.

Hyderabad are usually excellent with the ball in hand but they really let themselves down with some poor bowling on a reasonably helpful pitch in Chennai. Their batting was never the best, however Bairstow has definitely added a more explosive element that they didn’t have a couple of seasons ago. Their bowling will be put to the test again here on an excellent wicket for batting in Mumbai. If I was RCB I’d definitely bat first to put the bowlers under pressure again.

Both sides should go well with the bat, but as we all know by now, RCB are relying on their big stars for runs. Their lower order were poor against Mumbai and I wouldn’t be surprised to see similar happen again. However they might not be needed looking at batting conditions here on Monday – Punjab Kings scored 221/6 in the first innings!

WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:

As I said above, batting conditions were very good on Monday with Punjab scoring 221/6. I said we would have good batting conditions here and we usually see a big score of 210 or more here at some stage each season. I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see 200 scored again here today. 188/7 was chased very easily in the first game here at the weekend and while Mumbai is generally good for batting – the wicket is probably playing a little better than usual given we have so many games to come here. The groundsmen have no option really but to have the wickets playing good at the start of the tournament to avoid really low scores later on.

RECOMMENDED BET:

We had a return from Rashid Khan with our Top Sunrisers Hyderabad Bowler bet in their first game, and while he could go well again here the conditions won’t suit spinners. That’s not to say he won’t take wickets as he’s an excellent bowler, but I would heavily favour runs here. RCB aren’t a side to rely on given their weak middle order, but the Hyderabad bowling worried me in their first game and if the likes of de Villiers or Maxwell get going on this wicket then we could see another massive score. I would keep stakes low before the off, but RCB are a bet for me at the odds.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:

After seeing the first two games here, you’d definitely want to look for trades on the batting side. I wouldn’t favour the team batting first or second as I think whoever bats better will win, but I’d definitely focus on the batting side on BETDAQ Betting Exchange. As I mentioned above, even though we have very good batting conditions – I still wouldn’t be keen on the RCB lower order. That being said, they could be coming in with five overs to go and RCB 160/4 so that’s just a case of playing the situation.

Although Warner failed in the first game, and was actually dropped before getting out early too, with batting conditions so good it’s hard to bet against the high quality batters here. Baristow comes into the tournament in superb form, and he also batted very well against KKR so I could see him hitting plenty of sixes here if he gets going.
