WEDNESDAY IPL: Our cricket tipster The Edge previews Wednesday’s IPL Game 33 between Delhi Capitals v Sunrisers Hyderabad with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

MATCH OVERVIEW:

The Indian Premier League is back in Dubai on Wednesday as Delhi Capitals take on Sunrisers Hyderabad. After this game all eight will have played once in the UAE so we should have a better idea where we stand. As the tournament was postponed in India, Delhi Capitals sat first, albeit on net run rate, and Sunrisers Hyderabad sat last having only won one game from their first seven. It’s fair to say that the hopes for a Playoff spot are gone for Sunrisers Hyderabad but they will want to finish the tournament on a high.

Delhi Capitals played some very impressive cricket in the UAE last season, and they were only beaten by a top class Mumbai Indians side. You’d have to feel that conditions will suit them again this year now we are back in the UAE. They sat top because they had played one more game than CSK and RCB before coming to the UAE, but their squad is made for these conditions. Sunrisers Hyderabad have a lot of issues in their side however, losing Jonny Bairstow is a huge blow and there was something strange going on in the dressing room in India with David Warner.

With Bairstow opting out because of Covid19 worries, it seems certain Warner will play. Not only did he lose the captaincy in India earlier in the year, he was also dropped from the playing XI. Managers have short memories these days as he was excellent in 2020! Once again, another fascinating game of cricket is in store on BETDAQ Betting Exchange.

WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:

This is the third game in Dubai, but we also had a game here on Tuesday so I would go into this game expecting a fresh wicket. That would be my thinking, but it’s very hard to know for sure. Before the game starts, do plenty of research on all your usual sources to try and get some information on what wicket they are using. Usually Twitter is the best news source. With that in mind, I would watch the first three overs and see what the wicket is like – if we had the same wicket as Tuesday I would expect a slightly lower score given it’s a used wicket. The average score batting first here last year was 172.

RECOMMENDED BET:

Delhi Capitals are the shortest price of any side in the opening four games, but I still make them marginal value at 1.72. Sunrisers Hyderabad have a poor side for T20 in my view – I know they have a very good bowling line-up but their batters just aren’t up to the highest T20 standards. I also feel there was something odd going on in the camp behind the scenes in India for Warner to lose the captaincy. Delhi are a very impressive side who should be suited to conditions in the UAE. They were excellent here last year, and can start again from where they left off. Once again, keep stakes low in the early games.

The Edge Says:
One point win Delhi Capitals to beat Sunrisers Hyderabad at 1.72 with BETDAQ Betting Exchange

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:

Similar thoughts apply to the in-running strategy as my match odds preview – small stakes are the order of the day for the first games. This might be the third game at Dubai, but it’s the first for these two sides. It’s easy to see sides being rusty, but if we get a tricky wicket because it’s been played on before we could see a lower than usual score. I would want to know what wicket they are playing on – whether it’s fresh or not – before getting involved looking for trades on the batting side. I feel the main in-running play here will be getting against Sunrisers Hyderabad when they are batting after Warner goes – their middle order looks too slow for T20 in my view, and the Delhi bowling was excellent in the UAE last year.
