FULHAM V TOTTENHAM

8pm We have Monday Night Football to enjoy this week from the Premier League on BETDAQ Betting Exchange as Fulham host Spurs. Fulham finally had their winning run broken by Newcastle last weekend, but they will be reasonably confident of resuming their winning ways against a Spurs side under immense pressure at the moment. Not only were they blown away in the big games recently against Arsenal and Manchester City, they also drew with Brentford and lost to Aston Villa. Conte looks under pressure, and it’s fair to say that they need a win soon.

We have some huge games in the Premier League over the weekend, but Spurs start the Matchday sitting five points away from the Top Four, and everyone in the Top Four has a game in hand over them too. Most casual football fans might expect Newcastle to drop out and Spurs to probably take that spot given how far down the table Liverpool and Chelsea are, but the reality is that Newcastle have been playing better football than Spurs this season! If Fulham manage to win this game, they’ll actually jump over Spurs in the table.

Spurs come into the game as the favourites, but they aren’t trading odds on. At the moment they are conceding so many goals it would take a very brave punter to back them at odds on! Spurs are trading 2.16 at the time of writing, with Fulham 3.5 and the draw is 3.9. Spurs games have been jam packed with goals recently, and Over 2.5 goals makes a lot of appeal at 1.73. Spurs found themselves 2-0 up after a crazy end to the first half against Manchester City but they were totally outplayed in the second half to lose 4-2. They were outplayed by Arsenal too, especially in the first half.

The problem with Spurs at the moment is they just look all over the place at the back. It looks like they can concede from anywhere, and that’s unusual for a side under Conte. It looks like he has no answers to the issues at the back too! I’m happy to stay away from the match odds market here and back Over 2.5 goals at 1.73. Although Fulham have been scoring a lot of goals this season, they have been very lucky at the back. They have conceded a lot more chances compared to goals conceded. Their average xG conceded is 2.0 which is pretty poor – usually we’re looking at sides in the relegation battle with stats like that.

Why Fulham have picked up so many points is that their average xG going forward is 1.6 which is impressive. Their games have clearly been very open, much like Spurs to be honest, so I feel the sides will gel very well together here for an entertaining game. The 1.73 on Over 2.5 is worth a Max Bet in my opinion – I feel this game just screams goals! An early goal could see a crazy score line of 3-3 upwards!

The Striker Says:
Five points win Over 2.5 goals at 1.75 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

FACTMAN MATCH STATS

● Fulham have lost 12 of their last 14 Premier League games against Tottenham Hotspur (W1 D1) with their only win in that sequence a 1-0 away win in March 2013.
● Tottenham Hotspur have won their last six away Premier League visits to Fulham. They’ve only won seven consecutive away top-flight visits to one club before, winning seven in a row against Aston Villa twice (1950-1956 & an ongoing run since 2012).
● Fulham have won three of their six Premier League London derby matches this season (L3) – they’ve never won four such games in a single top-flight season before.
● Tottenham have won just one of their last 11 away London derbies in the Premier League (D4 L6), though it was their last one against Crystal Palace (4-0). They’ve not won consecutive such games since a run of four between February and November 2018.
● Fulham are looking to win three consecutive Premier League home games for the first time since a run of four between April and September 2012. They last did so within the same season back in April 2011.
● Tottenham have won 10 of their last 14 Premier League games on a Monday (D3 L1), with their only defeat in that run coming at home to Man City in October 2018.
● Fulham’s defeat against Newcastle last time out ended a four-game winning run for the Cottagers in the Premier League. Their last three defeats in the competition have been courtesy of goals scored in the 89th minute or later.
● Fulham have scored 11 headed goals in the Premier League this season, only netting more in a single campaign in 2010-11 (15).
● Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has scored in all four of his Premier League London derby matches this season. The last player to score in five such games in a row was Harry Kane (2014-15), while Mitrovic would be the first non-Arsenal or Tottenham player to do so.
● Tottenham striker Harry Kane has scored more London derby goals than any other player in Premier League history (47). He’s scored in four of his five league appearances against Fulham, though the only failure in this run was his only game at Craven Cottage.
