BRENTFORD V BOURNEMOUTH

12.30pm It’s crunch time in the Championship Playoffs on Saturday with everything to play for. There’s only one goal between the sides in both games, and we’re bound to see high drama on BETDAQ Betting Exchange – as an added bonus too, all football bets are 0% Commission today! We start early as Brentford host Bournemouth one goal behind from the first leg. I thought Brentford would win the first leg and was disappointed to see them lose, however they were very unlucky based on the xG figures. They created an xG of 1.87 compared to Bournemouth’s 1.06 and they will be kicking themselves they didn’t convert their chances. At the end of the day, football is all about taking your chances when you get them and now they have a second leg under immense pressure. Brentford don’t really have good memories of the Playoffs either as they always come up short.

On paper, Brentford should win but Bournemouth will no doubt come here to defend. The longer the games goes without Brentford scoring, the more pressure they feel. I’m sure this is going to be a superb fixture! Brentford went into the Playoff first leg in great form – they created xG figures of 2.28, 1.85, 1.68, 2.63 and 1.83 in their final five games. One of those games came against Bournemouth too, when they won 1-0 but absolutely bossed the game with an xG of 2.63. On the flip side, Bournemouth went into the Playoff with three losses and everything pointed to a Brentford win – but hey that’s football! To be honest though, Brentford should have won – they played well enough to win and created enough chances to win. They are worth backing to turn things around here at odds against – they look a much better side than Bournemouth, and now they have to go and prove it.

SWANSEA V BARNSLEY

6.30pm Another fascinating game. This was a much tighter first game than Brentford v Bournemouth, but it was quite a similar story in the sense Barnsley will feel they were unlucky to lose. They created the better chances, but it was still a very quiet game. The game finished 1.06 to 0.34 to Barnsley. Swansea have home advantage now though and a lead to defend, so this will be a tough afternoon for Barnsley. You’d expect another very close game and the market agrees as we have a very open betting heat. Barnsley are marginally the favourites and you can’t argue with that based on what we saw in the first leg. If anything, Barnsley look better value at 2.74 than Swansea at 2.86.

I take on board the fact that this game with naturally be more open because it’s a second leg, but I still feel under 2.5 goals is the value here at 1.82. When you watch the first leg you can’t help but feel that these two cancel each other out. Swansea will want to keep things very tight with the lead, and although home advantage doesn’t mean as much these days, it is going to come back to normal soon with fans returning to stadiums. Barnsley have to chase the game and that will of course leave gaps at the back, but Swansea didn’t create much in the first leg and I can’t see them creating a lot here either. An early goal come easily throw the game wide open, but I would still have under 2.5 goals shorter than the current 1.82. On paper, this game just screams a low scoring affair between two pretty even sides. You can see the market agrees too as the prices in the match odds market are very close.
