CHAMPIONSHIP: The Striker previews Saturday’s Championship games between FULHAM v BLACKPOOL and PETERBOROUGH UNITED v SHEFFIELD UNITED with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

FULHAM V BLACKPOOL

3pm The Championship is the focus in England this Saturday and all football bets are 0% Commission on BETDAQ Betting Exchange! We have a very busy afternoon in the Championship but Fulham v Blackpool looks the pick of the 3pm games in my opinion. Fulham have been having a fantastic season and at the moment anyway, look certain to go back up to the Premier League. It will be a straight bounce back up after getting relegated last season, and it will be interesting to see can they stay in the Premier League this time. They came through the Championship Playoffs in the 2019/20 season after getting relegated from the Premier League in 2018/19! It’s been quite the journey for their fans when you think about it, and you have to ask this question – is this a better journey as a fan than just finishing mid-table every season? It’s a good debate to be honest, and I think I fall on the side of Fulham’s journey than say a Crystal Palace in the Premier League for example. Fulham arrive into this fixture scoring an incredible amount of goals, and this should be a good game.

Fulham are trading the shortest price of any side in the Championship this weekend as they trade 1.34 at the time of writing. You can hardly blame the market as they have scored a whopping 22 goals in their last four games. Going forward they have been absolutely superb this season – they have scored an average of 2.7 goals per game in the Championship and they have only conceded an average xG of 0.9 at the back. Those are very impressive stats. Compare this to Blackpool, who are just scoring an average of one goal per game. Blackpool have had a pretty average season away from home too, netting just 13 points from 12 away games this season. I feel this will be a one way traffic win here for Fulham and the 1.89 -1.5 goals looks nice value to cover the handicap. Everything is in Fulham’s favour here and they are in superb form, they can cover this handicap.

The Striker Says:
Two points win Fulham -1.5 goals to beat Blackpool at 1.89 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

PETERBOROUGH UNITED V SHEFFIELD UNITED

5.30pm We finish the evening with Peterborough United hosting Sheffield United. We’re at that stage of the season now when every game is massive for Peterborough as they sit in the bottom three. They will view this game as a good chance to pick up some points against a Sheffield United side who are having an average season, Sheffield United come into the game as obvious favourites but Peterborough won’t fear them. Peterborough will be much happier at home as they are better at home – I wouldn’t say there is a massive improvement to their level of play but they sit fifth from bottom in the home form table while they are rock bottom away from home. They only have four points away from home this season from 14 games which is very poor and explains why they are in the bottom three. Sheffield United actually move up the table when you just look at away form, and look good value here at 1.99 in my opinion. They come into this game in much better form when you look at the xG figures.

What will decide this game in my opinion is Sheffield United will create more chances – some of their recent xG figures read 2.17, 2.25, 2.60 and 1.79. Although they have dropped some points recently, they have actually been a little unlucky – for example they lost 2-0 away to Derby but finished with a marginally higher xG in a very close game. When you compare the chances created by Sheffield United to the chances conceded from Peterborough there’s only one winner here. Peterborough have given away xG’s recently like 1.60, 3.91, 2.71 and 2.59. Some of their worst performances at the back have come recently, and this seems a good time to back Sheffield United here. I’m happy to limit stakes a little given Sheffield United have been an average mid-table side this season, but they should win here.

The Striker Says:
Two points win Sheffield United to beat Peterborough United at 1.99 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
