CHELSEA v SPURS: The Striker previews the Carabao Cup semi-final on Wednesday between CHELSEA v TOTTENHAM with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

CHELSEA V TOTTENHAM

7.45pm We have some fantastic Carabao Cup action this week! With Manchester City out of the competition, it has really opened things up and we also have four fantastic teams remaining. Chelsea take on Spurs in the first Semi-Final while Arsenal and Liverpool meet in the second Semi-Final. It’s going to be a good week on BETDAQ Betting Exchange, and we go straight into FA Cup action at the weekend too.

Usually the top sides in the Premier League wouldn’t show this competition too much respect, and then in the latter stages they would play their full strength side. This game, given the situation both clubs find themselves in, has become massive all of a sudden. For Spurs and Conte, you don’t need me to tell you how big actually winning a trophy would be for Spurs. It’s been so long, and they actually have a pretty good chance too. Conte has them playing some nice football and it was promising to see them grind out a last minute win at the weekend.

For Chelsea, they need a win and something good to shout about at the moment. Romelu Lukaku has caused plenty of drama this past week, saying how much he loves Inter Milan and how he’s unhappy at Chelsea. This has seemingly come from nowhere, although he was going through a dip in form. Tuchel did the right thing leaving him out of the squad to face Liverpool at the weekend. I feel the fans wouldn’t have liked seeing Lukaku after what was said, and to be honest it’s become a remarkable situation from nothing. What happens from here, do they sell him? I don’t really see a way back, he’ll probably say sorry, but things won’t be the same again. Very strange.

Spurs will feel this fixture lands at the perfect time. I know it’s over two legs, but they come quickly and Spurs are in good form at the moment. The Chelsea and Liverpool game was pretty even, although Chelsea did go 2-0 down. That was an OK performance, but in general they have been under-performing for a while as you can see that they dropped out of the title race. They just haven’t been creating the same volume of chances as they were a few months ago.

Since Spurs played out a very boring 0-0 draw with Everton in Conte’s first game, they have been creating a lot. Their xG figures in the Premier League since then read 2.48, 2.43, 2.14, 2.87, 2.53, 2.9 and 2.09. They are consistent and impressive figures. Obviously this is a massive test away to Chelsea, but I do feel it lands at the good time for Spurs. Chelsea aren’t at their best at the moment, and the Chelsea lay appeals to me at 2.08. I’d be keen to have the draw on my side given this is over two legs, but Spurs are playing well enough to even win this game.

The Striker Says:
Three points lay (liability) Chelsea to beat Tottenham at 2.08 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
