CARABAO CUP: The Striker previews the Carabao Cup Semi-Final 2nd Leg between TOTTENHAM v CHELSEA with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

TOTTENHAM V CHELSEA

7.45pm It’s crunch time in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night as Spurs host Chelsea trying to come back from a 2-0 loss in the first leg. I have to say, I felt the first leg would be a lot closer but Chelsea had a 2-0 lead after 34 minutes and it was one way traffic on BETDAQ Betting Exchange from there. We have a very open market here, with a one goal loss still a good result for Chelsea so it’s easy to see why many punters don’t want to lump on Chelsea here. Spurs have to chase the game, and it will be interesting to see the tactics from the start.

Both sides recorded easy wins at the weekend in the FA Cup, with Chelsea scoring five against Chesterfield and Spurs scoring three against Morecambe. Other than the Chelsea game, Spurs have actually been playing very well lately. Since the boring 0-0 draw with Everton which was Conte’s first game after only days there, they have created xG figures of 2.48, 2.43, 2.14, 2.87, 2.53, 2.90 and 2.09. They look very comfortable at home, and an early goal here would make things very interesting.

Chelsea have a pretty tough run of fixtures. They’ve had this tie with Spurs, had to play Liverpool on the 2nd and then have to play Manchester City away the weekend – they would have been glad to have the FA Cup fixture at the weekend to relax a little! Apart from the Spurs game, Chelsea have been struggling a little lately. They have had all that drama with Lukaku, and then they also didn’t get games postponed due to Covid19 when they had outbreaks. They were probably the most unlucky side in that regard, dropping points against Wolves for example after requesting the game to be postponed.

They responded very well when they went 2-0 down against Liverpool though, they could have easily rolled over but that showed great character to come back to 2-2. The first leg against Spurs and the Liverpool game both came at home however, and I feel this will be more of a struggle for them away from home. They don’t need to chase this game either as they have a two goal advantage. As I said above, a 1-0 or 2-1 loss would be just fine and I can’t see them chasing the game late if it’s a draw either. All that adds up to a Chelsea lay at around 2.76 in my opinion.

The Spurs back is tempting, because they are playing well at the moment and they have been putting in some good figures at home recently, but it is nice to have the draw on your side here. I can see why we have a very open market, but the Chelsea lay stands out for me.

The Striker Says:
Two points lay (liability) Chelsea to beat Tottenham to 2.76 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
