TIGER WOODS’ TOP THREE ACHIEVEMENTS: Tiger Woods is golf. That’s a fact. Other golfers may still have records that he targets, and he may ever reach them, but Tiger will always be remembered in golf history as one of the greats.

There is always a different atmosphere on the course when Tiger gets a round going. There are a huge amount of stars in golf now, but nobody can create the madness and buzz that Tiger does. We’ve seen some wonderful moments down through the years, and some wonderful shots, but let’s look at his three biggest achievements..

The Masters Win In 1997

It’s hard to believe now that this win inspired most of the players on the tour now to take up golf. Tiger demolished the field in his first attempt to win The Masters. It was truly special. He won by 12 shots at only 21 years old, finishing the week 18 under par. That’s incredible when you think about it. We may never see the likes of it again.

When you think about it now, we always see repeat performances at The Masters and nerves at the end. Tiger did it at the first time of asking, and went up 18 aiming for the scoring record!

The Tiger Slam

It’s fair to say that this is one of the things that we’re unlikely to see again on the Tour. With the quality we have on display now, it’s hard to ever see anyone completely a Grand Slam again. That’s not to take away from the quality on show when Tiger did it though! To do it at the home golf was special too.

There’s no doubt that Tiger dominated the game when he was at his peak. He is one of the elite sportsmen that’s been able to dominate their chosen sport. Tiger did it at the age of 24 too, and although we have some incredible young talent on Tour now – that record will stay for a very long time.

The Major Comeback

This is the one that most fans of Tiger Woods will never forget. His reaction after holing the final putt was something else. He never reacted with that much emotion and just went to show how much it meant to him. He had been through hell and back after all his back troubles and injuries; it was incredible to see him return to the top of the game.

It only made it all the more special that it was at The Masters, and his performance in the final round under pressure was immense. The crowd reaction after the shot into 17 is something that will live long in the memory too. We have seen some amazing comebacks in sport, but this is surely one of the greatest.
