TURKEY V ITALY

8pm It’s finally here! After a long wait, Euro 2020 finally kicks off on Friday night as Turkey take on Italy in Rome at the Stadio Olimpico. It’s promises to be an excellent summer of football, and with all matches 0% Commission on BETDAQ Betting Exchange we should have some superb value bets over the next few weeks.

We start the action in Group A with football punters expecting Italy to win here and also top this Group. They trade 1.55 at the moment on the exchange to win the opening game. Italy missed out on the last World Cup given they had a lot of squad changes over the last few years, but they have improved recently and while they might come up short against the top teams – they should have a good run in the tournament.

It’s been a while since qualifying given Covid19, but Italy sailed through their Group with ten wins from ten games. They had a pretty weak Group however, with Finland coming second. The Nations League is probably more of a true reflection on their form and they topped their Group in that too with three wins and three draws. Turkey finished second behind France in qualifying, but they finished last and got relegated in the Nations League since – their Group wasn’t that strong and included Hungary, Russia and Serbia.

We have had a lot of friendlies in the build-up to the Euros, but I doubt they will tell us much. Turkey played Azerbaijan, Guinea and Moldova, while Italy played San Marino and Czech Republic. We’re not going to learn anything from Italy playing San Marino, but at least they scored seven and then four against Czech Republic. Turkey look pretty average on paper to me and their Nations League performances were poor too.

For me Italy look excellent value at 1.55, and I have to start the tournament with a Max Bet. They look in peak form coming into the tournament and Turkey look like a very average side to me too. I would have Italy at least ten ticks shorter and I have to have five points on the 1.55. There are a couple of other bets I would be interested in too. Italy have been banging in goals for fun lately and the handicap prices look good value too. For example, Italy -1.5 goals is 2.62 while -2.5 is trading around 5.5.

The market is expecting a pretty tight game with over 2.5 goals trading 2.39 but I feel Italy could start the tournament with a bang here. Turkey’s price is because of their qualifying performances, especially against France perhaps, but that has been a while ago now and they have been very average looking since. Italy might have had a weak qualifying Group so they haven’t been fully tested, but they were beating Netherlands and Poland in the Nations League – they should deal with Turkey easily in my opinion.

The Ultra Says:
Five points win Italy to beat Turkey at 1.55 with BETDAQ Exchange.
