BUNDESLIGA and LA LIGA Fri: The Ultra previews Friday’s games between MAINZ v HERTHA BERLIN and REAL VALLADOLID v CADIZ both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

MAINZ V HERTHA BERLIN

7.30pm We’re back with our slot of Friday night football on BETDAQ Betting Exchange with one game from the Bundesliga and one from La Liga. These two games definitely have a relegation vibe to them – the only side here you’d say was safe is Mainz! Although it might not be the highest quality night of football, we do have two very interesting markets and the sides fighting for every point at the bottom of the table are always more dramatic than the mid-table clubs anyway. We start the evening in the Bundesliga with Mainz hosting Hertha Berlin. Mainz would have been delighted with their start to the season up to last weekend when they lost 4-1 to Hoffenheim, it was a terrible performance too as they conceded an xG of 5.12 so it could have been even worse. That’s not an ideal performance to come into this game on the back of, but in fairness there is a big drop in class here. Hertha Berlin have been in the relegation mix for two seasons now – indeed they finished in the relegation playoff spot last season – and they have started this season poorly too. They have only managed five points from their opening six games and they sit just outside the bottom three.

Possibly more worrying from a Hertha Berlin point of view is who they have below them. Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen won’t stay there for long and it will be the likes of Schalke, Augsburg and Stuttgart who they doing battle with this season. As you would expect, Mainz come into this game as the favourites – they are trading 1.74 at the time of writing and I feel that is very much worth backing. I know Mainz were hammered by Hoffenheim last weekend, but that game came away from home. They are a completely different side at home – if you look at the home and away tables from last season, Mainz finished in the top four at home while they dropped all the way to second last away from home. They were so bad away they could have been relegated! Hertha Berlin are a very average side and they are there for the taking in my opinion, they have played well over the last two weeks so I will control the staking here, but Mainz should be too strong here with home advantage.

The Ultra Says:
Three points win Mainz to beat Hertha Berlin at 1.74 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

REAL VALLADOLID V CADIZ

8pm Next we move to La Liga to finish the evening as Real Valladolid host Cadiz. As I said above, tonight as a big relegation vibe to it and this is already a massive clash at the bottom of the table. Cadiz find themselves in big trouble already this season as they have lost their opening five games. At the moment, Real Valladolid sit outside the bottom three with four points from their five games but they are obviously going to be involved in the relegation battle this season. It’s always hard when you come up from the Segunda and their main aim will just be staying in La Liga this season. You can see why this is a huge game for both sides – a win for Real Valladolid will see them move a little up the table and it will also really hammer Cadiz sitting in last. While a win for Cadiz would see them at last get their season on track, and maybe give them the confidence to put together a few decent performances. The main issue for Cadiz is there aren’t any positive signs. They have been playing terrible football, and they just look like a side who are going down even this early into the season. They have conceded xG figures of 2.32, 3.05, 3.27, 1.18 and 2.53 while only creating 0.33, 1.06, 0.26, 0.49 and 0.35. They have played Real Sociedad and Barcelona but other than that mid-table clubs. They are in real trouble though, nothing is working right looking at the figures. The manager is surely under pressure for his job too, it wouldn’t be a surprise if they hit the panic button.

I feel looking at the Cadiz figures, you actually wouldn’t argue with the manager changing. Some decisions shock you in football, like Tuchel at Chelsea recently, but those figures would definitely justify a change. The big question here is, do you trust Real Valladolid enough to back them at 2.12? We all know Cadiz are a very poor side, but at the same time Real Valladolid are limited too. They have created xG figures of 1.0, 0.62, 0.87, 2.12 and 0.66. Their win against Almeria here stands out obviously, and they have had a tougher fixture list having had to play Villarreal, Sevilla and Barcelona. At the moment, I would suggest they are going to be much stronger at home this season and they will struggle away. That angle suits this game too, and to be honest there isn’t anything to suggest supporting Cadiz here. I’m going to keep stakes reasonably low because Real Valladolid aren’t a side to fully trust, but everything points to a home win and the 2.12 is worth taking.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Real Valladolid to beat Cadiz at 2.12 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
