FRIDAY IN EUROPE: The Ultra previews Friday’s games between WERDER BREMEN v HERTHA BERLIN and MALLORCA v ESPANYOL both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

WERDER BREMEN V HERTHA BERLIN

7.30pm It’s been another busy week on BETDAQ Betting Exchange with Champions League and Europa League action. We kick off the domestic weekend on Friday night with our usual schedule of one game from the Bundesliga and one from La Liga. We’re in count down mode to the World Cup now, and I think we have European football of some form all the way until November the 13th before sides break for the World Cup. We start Friday night in the Bundesliga with Werder Bremen hosting Hertha Berlin. This might not be the most glamorous Bundesliga fixture this weekend, but it is very important for both sides. They are sitting in 11th and 13th at the moment, but they are just a few points away from the danger of the bottom three. Werder Bremen can be a lot more comfortable sitting in 11th, but Hertha Berlin are just three points away from 16th and don’t forget they had to play the relegation playoff last season. Werder Bremen came up from Bundesliga 2, and overall they will be delighted with their start to the season. Hertha Berlin won’t be unhappy either – it seems that they have improved from last season. I would suggest both should be OK this season, but with Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen below them in the table it seems certain they will drop down towards the bottom three as the season goes on.

From that point of view, a win here for either side would be massive. Especially Werder Bremen as that would put a good bit of distance between themselves and trouble – for Hertha Berlin it would just nudge them a little bit away from danger, but they will likely still be involved in the relegation fight at some point in the season. Werder Bremen come into the game as favourites – currently trading 2.12 at the time of writing and that feels a little short considering what an open game they have been playing this season. Their average xG conceded this season is 1.6, whereas they are creating 1.5. We’re seeing over three goals per game on average this season and they have been entertaining! Hertha Berlin have also saw a lot of goals in their games – they are conceding an average xG of 1.5 and creating 1.4. Both teams have scored in a lot of their fixtures. I feel this game screams goals, and Over 2.5 goals and Both Teams To Score is trading around the same price at 1.62. I much prefer the Over 2.5 goals option, and it’s a confident bet at 1.62.

The Ultra Says:
Four points win Over 2.5 goals at 1.62 BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

MALLORCA V ESPANYOL

8pm We move over to La Liga to finish the evening as Mallorca host Espanyol. Both sides will be reasonably happy with their start to the season – definitely more so Mallorca than Espanyol because they would have been one of the teams in the relegation discussion at the start of the season. They start the weekend sitting in 12th, and they have to be happy with 12 points from 11 games. They are actually ahead of Espanyol in the table who only have 10 points from their 11 games. Although they sit away from the bottom three, they are actually sit in the mix given how open the table looks at the bottom. Espanyol are only one point away from the bottom three, Mallorca are only three and although there’s a huge amount of teams involved at the moment, it only takes one or two bad results and you’re in trouble. Mallorca will surely see this as a big chance to put some more distance between themselves and the relegation battle – they have home advantage and Espanyol have only won once away from home all season. Despite that record, when you look at their xG figures you see that they haven’t been playing that badly. Indeed they finished with a higher xG than they conceded against Celta Vigo and Osasuna, while their other two performances had xG’s of 1.27 and 1.51. Average enough figures, but not bad. Mallorca got a much needed win last weekend away to Valencia after a run without a win but they were very unlucky. They host Barcelona and Sevilla in their last two home games, and they should have won both but lost 1-0 twice. They kept Barcelona to an xG of just 0.62 in an impressive display – that was when Barcelona were playing some top football too!

When they lost 1-0 to Sevilla, that was one of the most unlucky results of the season in La Liga. Sevilla created just 0.16 while Mallorca finished the game with an xG of 1.85. Mallorca have been playing some good football this season, and it’s easy to understand why they are favourites here. They are currently trading 2.34 at the time of writing. It’s hard to make the argument that they should be shorter because Espanyol haven’t been playing badly away from home, but at the same time I don’t want to take on Mallorca here because they did deserve to beat Barcelona and Sevilla here – I know Sevilla have been very poor this season but it was still a good performance. The bet I like here is Both Teams To Score at 2.13 – both have been creating enough chances to score here – obviously they are playing at a low level, but at their level they do have enough firepower going forward to see goals here. I’d have BTTS a few ticks closer to 2.0.

The Ultra Says:
One point win Both Teams To Score at 2.13 BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
