FRIDAY PREVIEW: The Ultra previews Friday’s matches between LAZIO v INTER MILAN and REAL BETIS v OSASUNA both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

LAZIO V INTER MILAN

7.45pm We have a wonderful Friday Night Football from Europe on BETDAQ Betting Exchange this week! Usually we have one fixture from the Bundesliga and one from La Liga, but we have a cracker from Serie A with Lazio hosting Inter Milan and then a choice of fixtures to focus on from La Liga, and the Bundesliga. We start the evening in Serie A, this is a real highlight fixture and it should be a high quality game too. Lazio had a great season in 2021/22, finishing just outside the top four. They have quite a gap to bridge, and if we’re being honest it’s actually hard to see them breaking into that top four, but they are still bang in the mix for the European spots. I’m sure their main aim this season will be keeping that fifth position – Jose Mourinho’s Roma will be eyeing that as an improvement from last season. It’s fair to say that Lazio would have been disappointed with their start to the season – they had to settle for a 0-0 draw last weekend away to Torino and although they started with a win here against Bologna, the performance wasn’t great. Compare that to Inter Milan who have started the season in top form – they have scored five goals in five games and their xG figures have been 1.96 and 2.56 while only conceding 0.70 and 0.64. You can see why they are favourites here!

Inter Milan only lost two games away from home last season, but they did have six draws. The difference in away form with AC Milan was likely where the title was lost for Inter Milan. They finished with seven less points away, and five more points than AC Milan at home! Lazio’s home form was pretty much neutral with their finishing position, and I don’t see any reason to not take the 1.94 on Inter Milan here. I know it will be a grind – it always is when two top teams clash in Italy – but you can easily make the case that Inter should be shorter here. I know Lazio had a great season last season, but you can clearly see that they haven’t started the season well. They have “got away” with it given they’ve picked up a win and a draw, but their performances have been poor. While I really like the Inter win, I was surprised to see Over 2.5 goals trading as short as 1.67 – Lazio haven’t created much in their opening two games, and given Inter are so strong at the back I wouldn’t be surprised to see an Inter clean sheet. Both Teams Not To Score is also trading around 2.5 for anyone interested in that. Plenty of options here to consider, but it has to be Inter for my best bet – what a fixture to kick off the weekend though!

The Ultra Says:
Three points win Inter Milan to beat Lazio at 1.94 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

REAL BETIS V OSASUNA

9pm Next we move to La Liga to finish the evening as Real Betis host Osasuna. We have a very similar market here to the Lazio v Inter Milan, except this time the home side are trading around 1.94 instead of the away side. Both these sides will be delighted with their start to the season – two wins from two games and they would have been happy with the performances too. Obviously Real Betis had a wonderful season last season, they landed the Copa Del Rey but they also had a great chance to finish in the top four. Given they actually didn’t achieve the top four finish, it’s hard to see how they actually break into that top four. They were in fantastic form, started the season on fire and then had Atletico and Barcelona not at their best – plus Sevilla finished the season in terrible form. Perhaps that will give them hope that they can swap places with Sevilla this season, but I doubt it. All they can do though is focus on winning games and holding onto that Europa League spot with another possible Copa run. For Osasuna, they finished in 10th last season and to be honest they aren’t much more than a mid-table La Liga side. They main goal this season will be trying to move up a few spots, but they aren’t good enough to break into the mix for a European spots. This is a very interesting market in my opinion; and I will be fascinated to see how both sides perform. Interestingly, most of the success Real Betis had last season came away from home. If you look at the home form table, they actually drop down to 7th which is a poor performance.

From that point of view, and with Osasuna starting the season in good form, it’s clearly a tempting bet to lay Real Betis here at 1.94. They lost seven games at home last season – only six sides lost more than that – Celta Vigo, Alaves, Levante, Granada, Osasuna and Cadiz. While Osasuna are on that list for home form, their away form was a different story. On the away table alone, they actually move up into the European spots. They’ve started the season with two home wins, and played superbly well against Sevilla on the opening weekend too. That was a surprise result but they created a bigger xG figure, and then they hammered Cadiz finishing the game with an xG of 3.05. I am a fan of Real Betis, and fully respect that they have started the season in good form too, but I do feel that the 1.94 is simply too short here. I am going to keep stakes limited because clearly Real Betis are a top side, but I’d have them marginally odds against here. Osasuna have a lot in their favour here, and they will make this game closer than the odds suggest in my opinion.

The Ultra Says:
Two points lay (liability) Real Betis to beat Osasuna at 1.94 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
