LA LIGA PREVIEW: Our European football tipster The Ultra previews Monday’s game between ATLETICO MADRID v CELTA VIGO with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
8pm Just the one game in Europe for Monday night football as Atletico Madrid host Celta Vigo. The gap was closed a little at the weekend by the chasing pack, with Atletico starting this game with “just” a seven point lead! They also have two games in hand again now, with obviously one of them coming tonight so it’s not really a game in hand just a schedule issue but they are in a superb position to lift the La Liga title.
I said a few weeks ago that this was their big chance to lift the title with Real Madrid and Barcelona struggling so much towards the start of the season, and in fairness to them they have took their opportunity. With each passing week it looks more and more difficult for the chasing pack to catch them, but they have to keep winning. They don’t want this to go down to the final few games after leading by ten points.
We have landed some nice bets on Atletico this season already, and I really fancy them to win tonight – the 1.59 on BETDAQ Betting Exchange looks cracking value. Celta Vigo come into this clash in very poor form, they arrive here without a win in five La Liga games and they got knocked out of the domestic Cup too. They have had to play Villarreal and Real Madrid in that run, but they have come up short against Granada, Eibar and Real Betis recently too.
Celta Vigo generally don’t create an xG of over 1 per game, while Atletico are performing at a much higher level. They are full of confidence too as you would imagine given their season, and they are winning the tight games too. I would expect Celta Vigo to try and get this one as tight as possible, but Atletico look ten ticks too big at 1.59.
