8pm Just the one game in Europe on Monday night as Barcelona host Huesca. Barcelona crashed out of the Champions League last week with a 1-1 draw away to PSG after losing the first leg 4-1. Although the game finished 1-1, it was littered with chances and in fairness to Barcelona they put in one of their best performances of the season. The signs have been there that they have been playing some excellent football looking at their xG numbers, but they threw away their chances of winning La Liga with such a slow start.
Every game is a big game for Huesca at the moment who sit bottom of the table. They haven’t been terrible in La Liga and I wouldn’t say many bad things about them; their problem has been too many draws. They have drawn 11 games from 26 and that just hasn’t been good enough. From a betting point of view, you wouldn’t want to be betting against them every week but they find themselves bottom of the table nevertheless. Things are all lost for them however as they are within touch of getting out of the relegation zone.
Obviously Huesca won’t be looking at the fixture list and thinking this is a game where we can expect some points, and the market agrees with that with Barcelona trading 1.21 on BETDAQ Betting Exchange. Barcelona might be feeling a little sorry for themselves after exiting the Champions League and I wouldn’t be lumping on the 1.21. There will be more value bets later in the week, especially with all bets 0% commission at the Cheltenham Festival on BETDAQ.
Huesca were very unlucky in their last game; they lost 4-3 in a game that finished 3.03 to 0.92 on xG to them. They were able unlucky to lose against Sevilla when they created an xG of 1.71. I think they can create enough to score here, and while Barcelona might be able to put three or four past them – Both Teams To Score looks the value here at 1.9. An early goal should see an open game, and Barcelona have conceded a lot of sloppy goals this season.
