MONDAY IN EUROPE: The Ultra previews HELLAS VERONA v LAZIO and RAYO VALLECANO v ALMERIA both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

HELLAS VERONA V LAZIO

5.30pm Monday night football from Europe on BETDAQ Betting Exchange this week comes from Serie A and La Liga! We start the evening in Serie A as Hellas Verona host Lazio. Verona are under immense pressure as they sit in the bottom three, but they have collected a few points since resuming their season. Their big problem is prior to the World Cup the bottom three got adrift from the rest, and we all know how difficult it is to come back from situations like Verona find themselves in. It’s such an effort to get back in touch, and then momentum is always broken when they bump into the big sides too. I would say the writing is all the wall for Verona to be honest, but they have to keep trying! On the other hand, Lazio are having a fantastic season and they will be delighted to be sitting in the top four at the start of this matchday. Unfortunately for them, they got knocked out of the Coppa Italia on Thursday night against Juventus. Despite that setback, Lazio will be a very popular bet here at 2.08. I have to say I was expecting them to be much lower when I clicked into the market!

You can easily say that Lazio are over-performing this season because they are scoring an average of 1.8 goals per Serie A game this season but their average xG figure is only 1.3. They are also over-performing at the back, and if you were picking a side to drop out of the Champions League places you would definitely be picking Lazio. I feel the fact Juventus have been docked 15 points really helps clubs like Lazio! For a side sitting in the bottom three, Verona aren’t that bad at the back – usually sides in the relegation zone are conceding a bigger average xG than 1.4 but their main issues come up front really. I would have Lazio odds on here, and I fully expected them to be trading odds on when I clicked into the market. I feel we’re getting so much value here at 2.08 I’m happy to have a Max Bet!

The Ultra Says:
Five points win Lazio to beat Hellas Verona at 2.08 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

RAYO VALLECANO V ALMERIA

8pm We head over to La Liga to finish the evening as Rayo Vallecano host Almeria. I’m sure most casual football fans, especially those watching in the UK, might feel this isn’t the most glamorous fixture but we should have a high quality game here. Both sides are having a fantastic season which I’m sure they will be delighted with. Rayo Vallecano started the weekend sitting in seventh place which is incredible, and Almeria sat in 11th – they look reasonably safe but at the same time they are only three points off the bottom three. You have to be excited about the relegation battle when you look at the La Liga table this season! Almeria topped the Segunda table last season – they finished level on points with Real Valladolid who started the weekend sitting just outside the relegation zone. I’m sure Almeria’s main goal would just have been to stay up this season, and they are doing a good job of that so far. Rayo Vallecano come into this game as the odds on favourites, and I’m sure they will be a popular bet at 1.75 given Almeria’s away form this season.

Almeria have only managed three points away from home all season, but two of those have come since they resumed their season after the World Cup and they did put in two decent performances as well. Prior to the World Cup though they were very average away, and one of those draws was against Cadiz who are in the bottom three. The main problem for Almeria this season has come at the back – they are conceding an average xG of 2.0 per game this season which is a big problem. Rayo Vallecano are having a fantastic season, but they are marginally over-performing – they are conceding more chances than they are creating xG wise, but that hasn’t translated into their results yet. Obviously the longer-term Almeria away form does worry me, but I feel we’ll see a closer game than the odds suggest here and I’m happy to have a small lay on Rayo Vallecano at 1.75.

The Ultra Says:
One point lay (liability) Rayo Vallecano to beat Almeria at 1.75 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
