BUNDESLIGA / LA LIGA PREVIEW: Our European football tipster The Ultra previews Saturday’s feature games including REAL VALLADOLID v REAL MADRID with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
EINTRACHT FRANKFURT V BAYERN MUNICH
2.30pm What a day in Europe! We have some excellent games on today and we can avail of 0% commission on all football bets on BETDAQ Betting Exchange today too. We kick off the day with a cracker from the Bundesliga as Eintracht Frankfurt host Bayern Munich. Frankfurt are having a great season and although they are five points behind RB Leipzig at the moment they can push for second place. Realistically though a top four finish was be fantastic and they’ll have to battle Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen for that. Bayern were held to a draw on Monday night by Arminia Bielefeld but as I noted in my preview, Bayern had a busy week winning the UEFA World Club Cup.
Despite the 3-3 draw midweek, they played well and can get back to winning ways here. This game should be packed with goals looking at the xG figures from both sides, however the market has that factored in with both teams to score and over 2.5 goals trading pretty short in the 1.3 to 1.4 range. Frankfurt have been impressive this season, but they have given up a lot of chances and you just can’t do that against a side like Bayern. The 1.87 is too big to ignore on Bayern looking at the results from Frankfurt. As I said they have been impressive this season but they have also come up short against the top sides. They couldn’t beat Leipzig, Dortmund, Wolfsburg or Gladbach around November/December time and Bayern should outclass them this afternoon.

ATLETICO MADRID V LEVANTE
3.15pm We move to La Liga next for an odd situation! It’s not often you see back-to-back fixture in domestic leagues but that’s what we have here as Atletico Madrid host Levante after the sides played out a 1-1 draw on Wednesday night. Atletico might just be feeling a little bit of pressure here after two draws in ten days meaning they start the weekend with a six point lead over Real Madrid. A six point lead and a game in hand is a massive advantage; but with every dropped point and the gap closing the nerves grow! They were the better side in the 1-1 draw on Wednesday night and they should get back to winning ways here.
Levante are happy in mid-table and that’s where they should stay all season. They are far enough away from the battle at the bottom of the table to not worry but at the same time they have no hope of European football or anything like that. They managed a 2-1 win away to Real Madrid at the end of January though, and I’m sure Atletico will be looking at that fixture to stay focused. Atletico have given up a lot of chances recently, and although I’m happy to keep stakes to a minimum, I do like Both Teams To Score again today at 2.08. It has won by HT midweek, and Levante create enough chances to score here plus Atletico have conceded plenty in their recent games.

SCHALKE V DORTMUND
5.30pm We move back to the Bundesliga as our old friends Schalke host Dortmund. I was surprised to see Dortmund beat Sevilla midweek in the Champions League given how off the pace they have been in the Bundesliga this season, but they played very well against a side who are generally very tough to beat. Schalke haven’t followed up their shock 4-0 win over Hoffenheim in early January and they have lost four and drawn two since. They have come up very short against the top sides, and although Dortmund haven’t been at their best this season, I do like them to cover the 1.5 goal handicap here.
Dortmund’s main problem has been conceding chances and goals, so I’m happy to keep stakes low here but the 1.85 on Dortmund -1.5 goals is worth backing. Schalke give away so many chances I can see Dortmund having a lot of success here. And looking at Schalke’s xG figures you can clearly see they haven’t been creating much, so that is a big help here given Dortmund are leaking goals – Schalke might not be able to take advantage of that. Schalke have only created an xG of over 1 once against winning against Hoffenheim and although Dortmund play an open game they should have everything in their favour here.

REAL VALLADOLID V REAL MADRID
8pm We move back to La Liga to finish the day and all eyes from Real Madrid will be on the Atletico result from earlier in the day. Real obviously haven’t been at their best this season, but two draws three games (before today) for Atletico means there is a glimmer of hope for Real to catch them. They just have to keep winning games and hope Atletico drop points because the title is in Atletico’s hands to be honest. If they didn’t win from here it would be a surprise. This should be a straightforward three points for Real as Valladolid have been very poor this season, and I’m surprised to see Real as big as 1.54.
Valladolid sit in the bottom three and have gone six games without a win. Their form could be worse too as looking at their xG figures they have had some lucky results recently. They managed a 1-1 draw with Eibar last weekend but Eibar had an xG of 2.37 to 0.96. Valladolid do try to keep games very tight, so perhaps that’s a reason for the Real layers at 1.54 I just can’t have them that big here. I know Real haven’t been at their best this season, but this is a very poor Valladolid side and I’d have them closer to 1.45. They have built good momentum beating Valencia, Getafe and Huesca in recent weeks and they can add another low quality opposition victory to the list tonight.
