SUNDAY IN EUROPE: Our football tipster The Ultra previews Sunday’s games between STUTTGART v HERTHA BERLIN, ELCHE v CADIZ and CELTA VIGO v VALENCIA all with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

STUTTGART V HERTHA BERLIN

2.30pm It might not be a big blockbuster day in Europe today, but we have three very interesting markets on BETDAQ Betting Exchange across the Bundesliga and La Liga, with some massive games towards the bottom of the table. We start in the Bundesliga as Stuttgart host Hertha Berlin. The general feeling among football fans would be that these two sides are “too good to go down” but they started the weekend just outside the bottom three. Stuttgart have been very poor this season and they are really under pressure, but they recorded a huge win last weekend against Mainz. I wouldn’t say that changed much in terms of their performance level because they only created an xG of 0.28 and conceded 1.24 – they were very lucky to win, but it will give the club a boost and on paper at least, they have a decent chance to build on that here. Hertha Berlin always seem to be close to a relegation battle these days. They had to sit in the relegation zone for ages last season because they couldn’t play with Covid19, but they bounced out quite quickly afterwards.

Hertha Berlin arrive here without a win in four games, but they have been four reasonably close games. The biggest negative is probably that they haven’t managed to grind out any wins in these close games. The late goal from Augsburg would have hurt last weekend, but they didn’t exactly boss the game. They have been giving away too many chances recently, but given how little Stuttgart create they might actually get away with that today. I expect a very close game here between two sides struggling for form this season. Stuttgart have really unimpressed me this season, and I don’t agree with them being so short here. The home win is trading 2.34 at the time of writing, and that looks a good value lay to start Sunday afternoon. I expect a much closer game than those odds suggest.

The Ultra Says:
Three points lay (liability) Stuttgart to beat Hertha Berlin at 2.34 with BETDAQ Exchange.

ELCHE V CADIZ

3.15pm Next we move to La Liga for a massive game in the La Liga relegation battle as Elche host Cadiz. Both sides have the same number of points, and it’s fair to say that this is a real relegation six pointer as they say. Cadiz sit in the bottom three thanks to goal difference, but things are so tight towards the bottom a win for either side here who see them jump up a few places. They’ll still be in the relegation fight, but the loser is definitely going to be under pressure going into Christmas. Cadiz will be disappointed with their performances and placing this season – you would have thought that the first season in La Liga is always the toughest, but they were actually quite good last season. They managed to beat Real Madrid and Barcelona – not many sides can say that! They have been well off the pace this season though, they have been conceding goals for fun – although they did manage a 0-0 draw with Barcelona when they had home advantage! The main problem for Cadiz has been at the back, can Elche take advantage of that?

The Elche xG figures at the back are worse than Cadiz. The xG table actually leaves moves Cadiz up out of the relegation zone by a place but moves Elche down to second last. The reality is they have both been very poor, but Elche have been worse! They have been giving away a host of chances this season, and they have picked up some lucky draws too. They drew 1-1 with Sevilla for example but conceded an xG of 2.19. This is a game for reasonably low stakes given the lack of quality, but at the same time I feel the odds are way off here. Cadiz aren’t a reliable side so I have to limit stakes, but the 2.06 on Elche is a terrible price in my opinion and is screams a good value lay. They give away so many chances I just can’t have them at 2.06 – we’re going to have a closer game than those odds suggest. If Cadiz were a more reliable side I wouldn’t mind having a Max Bet lay here, but three points feels the right bet.

The Ultra Says:
Three points lay (liability) Elche to beat Cadiz at 2.06 with BETDAQ Exchange.

CELTA VIGO V VALENCIA

8pm We stay in La Liga to finish Sunday as Celta Vigo host Valencia. This is a proper mid-table La Liga clash with both sides sitting at the top of the bottom half of the table. There should be very little in this, and there’s only three points between them in the table too. Valencia have three more points, but the sides have actually won the same amount of games. Valencia have drawn seven, while Celta Vigo have lost seven. Both sides come into this fixture off the back of an unbeaten run of four games, and Celta Vigo have had to play Barcelona in that run too. They were actually very unlucky not to win that game, settling for a 3-3 draw but creating more than double the xG figure that Barcelona did. Valencia have also had a 3-3 draw against a top quality side recently too, drawing 3-3 with Atletico Madrid. They’ve had three draws in a row now, and to be fair they were three very even games. They won’t be unhappy as they played Real Sociedad in that run too.

The xG table puts these sides right beside each other in that table, so I was a little surprised to see Celta Vigo trading as short as 2.22 when I first clicked into the market. I expected a pretty open market. I agree that Celta Vigo should be favourites given they have home advantage, but I can’t have them as short as 2.22. Valencia have been a very solid side this season and have definitely took a step forward from last season when they weren’t far away from a relegation fight at times. Celta Vigo have more class on paper than Valencia, so as I said I can understand why they are favourites I would just have them bigger in the market. I expect a pretty even game here and from a value point of view I’m happy to lay the home side. This is purely a value bet, but I can’t see the play n pitch reflecting the odds. Celta Vigo are a value lay.

The Ultra Says:
Two points lay (liability) Celta Vigo to beat Valencia at 2.22 with BETDAQ Exchange.
