BUNDESLIGA / LA LIGA PREVIEW: Our European football tipster The Ultra previews Sunday’s games between SCHALKE v BAYERN MUNICH, ELCHE v BARCELONA and ATLETICO MADRID v VALENCIA all with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
SCHALKE V BAYERN MUNICH
2.30pm We have a superb Sunday with all the big boys in action! Schalke won’t have found memories of playing Bayern Munich as they started the season with an 8-0 loss! In their fixture at this time last year, they also lost 5-0, so perhaps a tough afternoon is coming for Schalke. Much has been made of their long losing run however they managed to break that in recent weeks with a 4-0 win over Hoffenheim! I noted that the xG figures from that game weren’t that impressive, and we have landed two nice bets betting against Schalke afterwards. I’m keen to get against them again today.
Bayern are clearly going to be very short to beat Schalke, indeed they are trading 1.2 on BETDAQ Betting Exchange. I feel this is a case of how many do Bayern win by, rather than do they win. I’m not going to tip a 1.2 shot, but I fully recommend putting it in today’s BETDAQ Multiples! I like Bayern to score four or more again against Schalke, and Any Other Away Win looks worth backing at 2.34 or bigger in the Correct Score market. Schalke simply give up too many chances and this Bayern side can put them to the sword.

ELCHE V BARCELONA
3.15pm Barcelona start this afternoon ten points behind Atletico Madrid, who play later, having played a game more. A sign of how off the pace they have been this season. They should claim three points in this fixture against a poor Elche side, but they trading 1.39 rather than the 1.2 range like Bayern Munich earlier in the day. Their xG figures say that they are improving however, and I’m happy to take the 1.39 on offer today. Elche are a very poor side and sit in the bottom three in La Liga. Barcelona have been creating chances for fun lately and they should win here.
Barcelona have played five of their last six games away in all competitions and they have had five impressive performances too. They have recorded xG figures like 3.38, 3.34, 1.49 and 1.61. Even when winning 1-0 against Huesca the xG was over 3. They are playing good football again, and the wins will follow – indeed, they have already started. It might be too late to challenge for the title with Atletico so far ahead, but I’m happy to get 1.39 to win games like this now they are back in form.

ATLETICO MADRID V VALENCIA
8pm We finish the day with another short odds favourite, however it’s one I’m very happy to back. Atletico look excellent value at 1.45 for me, as I have them much shorter to beat a poor Valencia side. Valencia have been very poor this season and are just three points off the relegation zone. They will probably have enough quality to avoid relegation, but they have been playing some poor football this season. We landed a nice lay on them against Osasuna midweek, but they were actually very lucky to draw. Osasuna finished the game with an xG of 1.92 to 0.54. Atletico grinded out a 2-1 win over Eibar after a break with no football.
Valencia consistently give away too many chances. You can see that by looking at the xG figures and they should be ideal for Atletico. The home side are having a great season and are in a fantastic position at the top of the table. They create a solid amount of chances and just grind out games – I feel they should be perfectly suited for taking on Valencia who don’t create much and are sloppy at the back. I’d have Atletico closer to 1.3 rather than the 1.45 on offer and it has to be a very strong bet.
