BUNDESLIGA / LA LIGA PREVIEW: Our European football tipster The Ultra previews Sunday’s games between SCHALKE v AUGSBURG, REAL VALLADOLID v GRANADA and REAL BETIS v ATLETICO MADRID all with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

SCHALKE V AUGSBURG

2.30pm In what is becoming the norm now, another absolutely fascinating Sunday in Europe with some very competitive markets on BETDAQ Betting Exchange. We start with our old friends Schalke hosting Augsburg in the Bundesliga. Schalke managed to shock every with a win in January after going nearly a year without winning – allowing for a longer break due to Covid19 too of course – but they have gone back to themselves since and it’s now been 12 games since they won. I can forgive anyone who might think this will be one way traffic, but there are reasons to believe that Schalke could get a result here. At first glance of the Augsburg results might be impressed but when you look deeper you see they aren’t playing well.

They grinded out a 2-1 win over Hoffenheim last weekend in a close game, but they managed to beat Gladbach 3-1 prior to that despite conceding an xG of 2.96 in one of the most lucky wins of the season. They consistently give away a host of chances looking at their xG figures, and I would be very confident backing someone else to beat them – but the question is, do we trust Schalke? The problem for Schalke is, not only do they give away a host of chances, they actually create very little. It’s no wonder they are nailed to the bottom of the Bundesliga – they have nothing going for them at all! I do feel given the way both sides defend that we will see goals here. Over 2.5 goals is 2.2 and that looks massive to me. I wouldn’t put anyone off laying Augsburg at the odds, even allowing for how poor Schalke are, but I like the goals bet to start the day.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Over 2.5 goals at 2.2 with BETDAQ Betting Exchange

REAL VALLADOLID V GRANADA

5.30pm We’ve had some big games at the bottom of La Liga this weekend, and this is another. Granada won’t like me saying that, and they are sitting nicely in mid-table but this is a fantastic chance for three points for Real Valladolid who are in danger of going down. Valladolid played their hearts out against Barcelona on Monday night but Barcelona kept coming at them and eventually they found a very late winner. If Valladolid can play like that for the rest of the season, they will surely stay up. This is a good chance for Valladolid though as Granada have nothing to play for and they have to focus on their Europa League tie midweek as they are 2-0 down against Man United after the first leg.

Even allowing for Granada slightly taking their eye off the ball here, the xG figures suggest Valladolid are a good bet at 2.2. When you look at their Granada xG figures, you just feel they give away so much. They have conceded xG figures of 2.27, 3.51, 1.93 and 2.44 in their last four games. I know Valladolid aren’t the most reliable side and their position in La Liga reflects that, but they come into the game in reasonable form. They might not be creating a huge amount, but they are keeping things tight at the back and that should really suit them here. They can keep Granada at bay, while Granada will give them chances – I see one way traffic here and I’m happy with 2.2 on a home win.

REAL BETIS V ATLETICO MADRID

8pm La Liga have saved the best until last again tonight! We might have enjoyed a massive El Clasico on Saturday night, but Atletico Madrid have to remember that they started the weekend sitting top of La Liga and they can finish in there with a win. It’s fair to say that Atletico Madrid are feeling the pressure as they have continued to drop points in recent weeks. They started dropping points while playing good football, but their recent losses have been more worrying. They were completely outplayed by Chelsea in the Champions League, and they couldn’t argue with a loss to Sevilla last weekend either looking at the xG figures. It’s fair to say that they need a win to steady the ship, but they face another very tough fixture here.

The fact that Atletico had a massive lead and also games in hand must only add to the feeling of pressure given they had more than one hand on the title! Real Betis are having a good season and they also come into the game in good form. They could only manage a 1-1 draw last weekend with Elche, but they controlled the game and should have won with an xG of 2.3. Their xG figures have been impressive, with their last six games including figures like 2.3, 2.5, 2.39 and 2.91. They are just the kind of team Atletico would love not to play at the moment and I feel tonight is a good time to be against Atletico. You can see their performance level has dropped lately, and I’m happy to lay them at 2.52.

The Ultra Says:
Three points lay (liability) Atletico Madrid to beat Real Betis at 2.52 with BETDAQ Betting Exchange
