NATIONS LEAGUE SEMI-FINAL: Our football tipster The Ultra previews Thursday’s second semi-final between BELGIUM v FRANCE with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

7.45pm We have the second Nations League Semi-Final on Thursday night in Turin, and we have a fascinating clash on with BETDAQ Betting Exchange between Belgium and France. As I said in my preview of the first Semi-Final, it feels like so long ago that we had the Group stages of this competition. You have to go back nearly a year to see the Groups, and sure so much has happened since. Belgium sailed through a tricky Group involving England to top Group A2, but then again they always do sail through the qualifying section of tournament. While France topped Group A3 with Portugal, Croatia and Sweden.

At the moment, Belgium are sailing through World Cup qualifying but it’s hard to forget how short they came up at Euro 2020. They may have beaten Denmark and Portugal on paper, but they conceded a bigger xG in both games. They were particularly lucky to beat Portugal as they created very little in that game. That tends to be the thing to happen Belgium though – they hammer the smaller sides and come up short against the top sides. It will be fascinating to see how they perform here.

France would have been bitterly disappointed to crash out of Euro 2020 against Switzerland, but anything can happen in penalties. They played well and deserved to win, but they never took their chances and ended up only winning one of their four games for the tournament in the end. As you would expect, we have a very open market but France are favourites. I expect a very close game here, but France are too tempting to turn down at 2.59. As I said above, I always feel Belgium come up short against the top sides.

I felt they almost needed to win at Euro 2020 to do this squad justice – they will likely never have a better squad in our lifetime – but they just lack the killer instinct in the big games. You get the feeling too with France that they will be bang at it in this game and they have an unbelievable starting XI if they are all in form. This will be a superb game of football with two top quality teams, and perhaps under 2.5 goals is good value at 1.69 with a close game expected. These games always tend to be cagey affairs and this should be no different, but France at 2.59 is too tempting to turn down.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win France to beat Belgium at 2.59 with BETDAQ Exchange.
