BUNDESLIGA / LA LIGA PREVIEW: Our European football tipster The Ultra previews Tuesday’s games between GLADBACH v WERDER BREMEN, BAYER LEVERKUSEN v DORTMUND and ALAVES v SEVILLA all with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
GLADBACH V WERDER BREMEN
5.30pm An excellent midweek run of fixtures in Europe awaits with plenty of Bundesliga and La Liga action! We start with Gladbach hosting Werder Bremen as the hosts slipped down the table at the weekend with a draw against Stuttgart. Gladbach are having their worst season for a while as they sit down in 8th position, of course there’s plenty of time for them to get into the top four again, but they do look a little off the pace this season compared to last. Werder Bremen are your classic midtable Bundesliga side, however they had a terrible season last time and we’re lucky to stay in the Bundesliga.
The Gladbach xG figures aren’t impressive for this season, as you would imagine as they have slipped down the table. I assume they will have a lot of backers at 1.66 on BETDAQ Betting Exchange, but I feel that price looks about right. They should beat this Werder Bremen side, however the 1.66 doesn’t offer value for me given the way they have played this season. Gladbach play a very open game, and looking at their xG figures conceded this season I feel we’ll see goals here. Both Teams To Score is worth backing at 1.8.

BAYER LEVERKUSEN V DORTMUND
7.30pm This is a wonderful midweek fixture. Bayern Munich haven’t been at their best this season, however they went four points clear at the weekend with everyone else dropping points. That includes these two, with Leverkusen losing 1-0 to Union Berlin and Dortmund drawing with Mainz. This could have been the season for someone to challenge Bayern – or at least get reasonably close – and it appears as though everyone is throwing away their chance. The 1-1 draw with Mainz for Dortmund was particularly disappointing as they started the game long odds on. Leverkusen got to the top of the Bundesliga but since losing to Bayern they have lost two more and drawn their other fixture.
When you look at this fixture, neither side look bombproof. You’re not jumping at the chance to back either as they both have their issues; however I feel today is the right time to back Dortmund. The reason is because the Leverkusen xG figures make for grim reading at the moment. They have fallen out of form badly, only creating 0.78, 0.69, 0.88 and 0.26 in their last four games. You can forgive the 0.26 against Bayern, but the other three games came against Frankfurt, Werder Bremen and Union Berlin – three sides they should beat. Dortmund may have been held at the weekend and have been under par in general this season, but their xG figures are better and they should win.

ALAVES V SEVILLA
8.30pm We finish the day in La Liga with Alaves hosting Sevilla. This looks to be the best bet of the day in my opinion as Sevilla look excellent value at 1.77. They suffered one of the most unlucky results of the season this day last week with a 2-0 loss to Atletico Madrid. The xG finished 2.68 to 0.52 in favour of Sevilla! Atletico Madrid are just having an excellent season, and everything is going their way at the moment. Sevilla are having a very solid season and prior to that game they had been in reasonably good form. They are hard to beat, although they are just off the quality needed to contend at the top of the league.
For me they should be much shorter to beat this poor Alaves side who are in a relegation battle. Cadiz bossed them the weekend before last, winning 3-1 which was fully deserved looking at the xG figures. Looking at their results you might think Alaves play better at home as they have gathered plenty of points here, however they have been lucky to do so. There’s plenty of examples – they drew 0-0 with Sociedad but Sociedad had an xG of 1.49 to 0.29, conceded an xG of 2.2 to Valencia and draw 1-1 with Barcelona with xG finishing 2.24 to 0.89 to Barcelona. Sevilla are playing well enough to create the same volume of chances and take them against this average Alaves side and I would have them much shorter.
