CHAMPIONS LEAGUE TUESDAY PREVIEW: Our European football tipster The Ultra previews Tuesday’s games between ATLETICO MADRID v CHELSEA and LAZIO v BAYERN MUNICH both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

ATLETICO MADRID V CHELSEA

8pm The Champions League action last week was absolutely superb. We had drama, shocks and plenty of high quality football – hopefully we get more of the same this week! We start with an absolute cracker too as Atletico Madrid host Chelsea. I have to say I find this a fascinating fixture as you’d have to say Atletico are having their first wobble of the season at the moment. They are still in a strong position in La Liga; three points ahead of Real Madrid with a game in hand but the gap was much bigger and now you can see the pressure creeping in. They have only managed one win in four games, although they were desperately unlucky to lose at the weekend. They lost 2-0 to Levante but xG actually finished 2.84 to 0.87 to Atletico!

Chelsea had a disappointing result too as they drew 1-1 with Southampton. They had been on a winning run prior to that but they haven’t played anyone really strong – this will be an excellent test. We have a very open market on BETDAQ Betting Exchange, which isn’t a big surprise but I feel Atletico are the value here at 2.7. Levante have taken four points off them in two games, in an unusual situation where the teams played back-to-back league games; however Atletico haven’t played badly. Yes, they are under pressure now in La Liga but the performance the weekend was very good; they just didn’t score. For me the jury is out on Chelsea; they have played average sides and haven’t blown them away and they met Spurs at a very good time. I’m keeping stakes low because it’s a first leg and Atletico can sometimes be cagey, but I expect them to outclass this Chelsea side.

LAZIO V BAYERN MUNICH

8pm Many football fans might look at this fixture and feel it will be an easy win for Bayern, but they arrive into the game without a win in two games and their lead is only two points at the top of the Bundesliga now. A week or two ago the Bundesliga looked over! Despite losing at the weekend against Eintracht Frankfurt, they actually played very well looking at the xG figures and I wouldn’t hit the panic button yet. I’m sure they were happy to win the UEFA World Club Cup, but it does get in the way when it falls during the season. They won the UEFA Super Cup this season too and then dropped points in the Bundesliga afterwards too. They will have to be fully locked in and focused tonight, but it’s a Champions League game so I’m sure they will. They should outclass this Lazio side if they play their usual game.

Lazio grinded their way through a Group with Dortmund, Club Brugge and Zenit Saint Petersburg. I know Dortmund were able to beat Sevilla 3-2 last weekend, but they have been well off the pace in the Bundesliga this season and you’d have to say that was a weak enough Group. They have been performing well in Serie A this season, but they do come up short against the top sides and they are 10 points behind league leaders Inter Milan. Looking at their xG figures; they do give up quite a few chances and if they do that against Bayern, they will take them. Bayern will get a lot of chances here and they are worth backing at 1.73. It’s not a bet for high stakes, but it offers solid value and they should get the job done against this Lazio side.
