EURO 2024 QUALIFIERS: The Ultra previews Tuesday’s qualifiers between SCOTLAND v SPAIN and WALES v LATVIA both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

SCOTLAND V SPAIN

7.45pm This International break for the Euro 2024 Qualifiers comes to an end on BETDAQ Betting Exchange on Tuesday night with two important games for the Home Nations. Wales have a must win game in Group D, but we start the evening in Group A where Scotland host Spain. It’s fair to say a draw would be a huge result for Scotland here, and it will be very interesting to see how they approach this game. They made a winning start to their campaign on Saturday afternoon here against Cyprus, but that wasn’t unexpected and they will have tougher tasks ahead. Spain won easily against a Norway side who didn’t have their star man Erling Haaland, and while that puts Norway on the back foot for now, they would have gone into this Group expecting to finish second rather than top the Group over Spain. Scotland have the nice position of being certain of a playoff place from their Nations League finish, but they will fancy their chances of at least being very competitive with Norway for the second qualifying spot. Norway are actually under a little bit more pressure because they have nothing to fall back on from the Nations League. From a Group situation point of view in the race for second, a draw would nearly be as good as a win for Scotland. It would be a compete bonus point against a top class side sure to top this Group.

The big question from a betting point of view is are they good enough to get a result? The good news for Scotland fans is obviously they have home advantage, and as we know that is a huge thing for Scotland. They are far more comfortable in front of their own fans, and they’ve had some cracking results here over the last two years or so. They managed to hold Austria to a draw here and beat Denmark in World Cup Qualifying. However, when they beat Denmark it was already certain that Denmark would top the Group. They got outplayed by Ukraine in the playoffs, and although Scotland have made a lot of progress I was still surprised to see Spain trading as big as 1.71 when I clicked into the market here. I felt we’d see them trading closer to 1.6 because Scotland have always come up short against the top sides. I’m not going to go mad with the stakes because you have to respect Scotland at home, but there is a gulf in class between the sides here. Spain are in a good place too, and looked good against Norway. They can get the job done here, and the 1.71 is worth a three point bet.

The Ultra Says:
Three points win Spain to beat Scotland at 1.71 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

WALES V LATVIA

7.45pm We move over to Group D to finish the evening as Wales host Latvia. As I said above, this is a must win game for Wales – they simply can’t afford any slip-ups at home to Latvia if they were going to compete with Croatia and Turkey in this Group. Wales started their campaign with a 1-1 draw away to Croatia which was a huge result for them. It’s expected that Croatia will top this Group, so a draw away for Wales is a brilliant start. They have the added pressure of not having a playoff spot to fall back on from the Nations League after getting relegated last time around, so they need to finish in the top two or at least be one of the top third placed sides, which can be tricky. Latvia topped their Nations League Group, but they were in a D Group with Moldova, Andorra and Liechtenstein – you can’t go any lower than a D Group, but they can say that they were the best side there. They didn’t really top their Group impressively either – they actually finished on the same amount of points as Moldova. They only picked up nine points from their ten games in World Cup qualifying, and only managed to finish ahead of Gibraltar in their Group. That was still an improvement on their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign because they finished bottom of their Group with only three points from ten games.

Wales will be fully expected to win here, and the market is confident too. The home side are trading as short as 1.24 at the time of writing. It would be a big shock to see anything bar a comfortable Wales win, and I feel the question from a betting point of view here is how many goals will Wales score rather than will they win. The thing about Wales recently is that they haven’t been scoring too many goals. They will likely struggle even more without Bale too. It will actually be very interesting to see can they put on a show here and hammer this average Latvia side, however I can see them grinding their way to a win rather than blowing Latvia away. It’s highly likely Latvia are going to put XI men behind the ball and just aim for a draw too. Under 2.5 goals is trading 2.17 and at those odds it’s definitely worth a small investment.

The Ultra Says:
One point win Under 2.5 goals at 2.17 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
