CHAMPIONS LEAGUE PREVIEW: Our European football tipster The Ultra previews Wednesday’s Champions League games between FC PORTO v JUVENTUS and SEVILLA v DORTMUND both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

FC PORTO V JUVENTUS

8pm We have another excellent night of Champions League football on Wednesday, and we start with Porto hosting Juventus. Many football fans might look at this tie and just assume an easy win for Juventus, but Porto are no mugs. They did quite well in a Group with Man City; holding them to a 0-0 draw here. However it must be said that the other two teams in the Group were very weak and Juventus should really get the job done here. They managed to top their Group with Barcelona in it but they managed a win each over the two fixtures. They are playing OK football this season, however they aren’t in the same position at the top of Serie A as last season.

Juventus lost 1-0 to Napoli at the weekend, but they played very well looking at the xG figures. They created an xG of 2.47 – it was just one of those games that they couldn’t put the ball in the net. Porto have been conceding a lot of goals lately and they are already seven points off the pace in Portugal having played one game more. I can understand why plenty of punters would like to lay Juve here looking at the result the weekend but the xG figures say they come here bang in form. They were very good against Inter in the Cup too over the two legs and I like the 2.08 tonight.

SEVILLA V DORTMUND

8pm This is a fascinating fixture, and a intriguing market on BETDAQ Betting Exchange. Dortmund managed to top their Group but you have to say it was a very weak Group with Lazio, Club Brugge and Zenit Saint Petersburg – that was exceptionally weak when you look at the other Groups. Sevilla had a ding dong battle with Chelsea in their Group when Chelsea were playing their best football of the season and they also come into this fixture in great form. I think today is an ideal time to get on Sevilla to beat an average Dortmund side.

Dortmund are massively off the pace in the Bundesliga this season as they sit down in sixth position. Bayern have already have the title won almost, but Dortmund are already 11 points behind RB Leipzig who are in second. xG highlighted how much Dortmund were over-performing last season and with Sevilla playing some solid football this season they can win here. My main worry is a slow affair with Sevilla not really going all out to win given it’s a first leg – they tend to keep things tight in the first half and up their game in the second half in La Liga. They have been excellent at the back recently though with six clean sheets in all competition; including Barcelona in the Cup. Dortmund have been giving up a lot of sloppy goals this season and with Sevilla so solid at the back, the 2.4 on Sevilla is worth taking.
