CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WEDNESDAY PREVIEW: Our European football tipster The Ultra previews Wednesday’s games between ATLANTA v REAL MADRID and GLADBACH v MAN CITY both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

ATALANTA V REAL MADRID

8pm A fascinating night in the Champions League! Gladbach v Manchester City should be one way traffic in the other game, but this game is an intriguing affair and the betting is very interesting too. Atalanta are clear favourites on BETDAQ Betting Exchange while they didn’t manage a win at home in the Group stages. Real Madrid are off the pace in La Liga after a slow start, but they have gained ground in recent weeks so they do have some good momentum. It’s clear that Real aren’t at their best this season, but from a value point of view I still wouldn’t have Atalanta as short as 2.36. Atalanta had a good season last year looking at their xG figures in Serie A, a lot of Italian football fans though they would go close this season but they are ten points off the pace behind Inter Milan.

Real’s problem this season has been conceding too many goals, but they have kept three clean sheets heading into this fixture. They have only played Real Valladolid, Valencia and Getafe but you can see they are improving; or to put it another way – not getting any worse! Atalanta couldn’t beat Ajax or Midtjylland here in the Group stages, along with losing 5-0 to Liverpool and those draws worry me. I take on board Real are below their best but I can’t get away from the Atalanta lay at 2.36. It’s hard to see the game not being closer than those odds reflect.

The Ultra Says:
Two points lay (liability) Atalanta to beat Real Madrid at 2.36 with BETDAQ Betting Exchange

GLADBACH V MANCHESTER CITY

8pm From the two fixture tonight, this one will go in plenty of punters BETDAQ Multiples as Man City have been in superb form recently. They are trading as short as 1.33 at the time of writing but it’s very hard to see anything other than a City win. City have shot clear at the top of the Premier League in recent weeks and anyone who is a fan of xG seen it coming. Their performances have been incredible for a while now and their score lines still don’t do them justice. They beat Arsenal 1-0 at the weekend but it really should have been more and they should be able to comfortably deal with this Gladbach side who concede too many goals in the Bundesliga.

With the Premier League title very close to being in the bag City now have an excellent chance to focus on the Champions League. You get the feeling this is an excellent chance for them to finally win it under Guardiola as the side in La Liga who below their best this season and Bayern Munich haven’t been smashing the Bundesliga like they usually do; however they will still be the biggest threat. Gladbach come into this fixture in poor form too with two losses and a draw from their last three. These losses have come against weaker opposition too and they haven’t created many chances at all in their last four Bundesliga games. I feel City will cover the handicap here, and the 1.74 -1.5 goals is very much worth taking.

The Ultra Says:
Three points win Manchester City -1.5 goals to beat Gladbach at 1.74 with BETDAQ Betting Exchange
