REAL MADRID V SHAKHTAR DONETSK

5.55pm We have an excellent evening of Champions League action on Wednesday and we kick off with Real Madrid hosting Shakhtar Donetsk! Real had a shock loss at the weekend, losing 1-0 here to La Liga new boys Cadiz. I backed Both Teams Not To Score, thinking Real would win to nil. I didn’t expect to collect with a Cadiz win to nil! In fairness to Real, that was completely unexpected looking at their form this season and they should have got a draw looking at the xG numbers.

Real exited the Champions League very early by their standards last season, coming up well short against Manchester City. They may have toppled Barcelona to lift La Liga, but there’s always pressure to do well in the Champions League in Madrid. Shakhtar did really well in the Europa League last season, but came up well short against Inter Milan – and now they find themselves in a Champions League Group with them and Real Madrid! Shakhtar were very entertaining last season, and I think both teams will score here. I’m surprise it’s trading 1.88 and that’s worth a small investment to start the evening.

The Ultra Says:
One point win Both Teams To Score at 1.88 on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE

BAYERN MUNICH V ATLETICO MADRID

8pm This fixture is definitely the most eye-catching of the night, with two massive clubs clashing! Atletico are an excellent side, but they’ve always came up a little short against the top sides. They’ve been remarkably consistent in the Champions League but they always tend to be the bridesmaids. Both sides have pretty much been themselves at the start of the season, Bayern have seen a stack full of goals in their games, while Atletico have kept three straight clean sheets – however they have had two 0-0’s against average sides.

This should be a fascinating game, but I’m very happy to be on Bayern at 1.56. Atletico will sit back and try to make it a cagey affair, but I just can’t see them stopping this Bayern side for 90 minutes. They simply create too much. Atletico may be keeping clean sheets against the likes of Huesca, Villarreal and Celta Vigo but Bayern are a different animal and they can out-score this Atletico side.

The Ultra Says:
Three points win Bayern Munich to beat Atletico Madrid at 1.56 on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE

MANCHESTER CITY V PORTO

8pm Manchester City are the shortest price of any side to win on BETDAQ betting exchange! It’s difficult to disagree with the market too, as they should easily beat Porto. They got back to winning ways at the weekend with a 1-0 win at home to Arsenal and it’s fair to say that the jury is still out on whether they can win the Premier League this season. We all know how dearly Guardiola would love to win Champions League with them, and although they’ve been gifted a very easy Group – the tougher tests will come later on and we know that they are vulnerable at the back.

I have no doubt City will be on top after 90 minutes here, but Porto are a decent side and they are also an attacking side. An early goal could open this game right up and with City making so many mistakes at the back lately, it’s worth having a small bet on Both Teams To Score at 1.8. City are fairly priced at 1.28, while over 2.5 goals looks a little short at 2.02 – Both Teams To Score looks the best value option here.

The Ultra Says:
One point win Both Teams To Score at 1.8 on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE

AJAX V LIVERPOOL

8pm Liverpool arrive here after three games without a win, which is now unusually for them given how they played for much of last season. In my opinion, they get back to winning ways tonight. Ajax were poor in the Champions League last season, failing to make it out of the Group stages and then had very little impact on the Europa League. Liverpool were unlucky not to beat the in-form Everton at the weekend, having to settle for a draw in a game that they won 2.85 to 1.35 on xG.

It’s hard to know where the 7-2 loss to Aston Villa came from before the International break, and now they find themselves without their star man at the back Virgil van Dijk. Klopp’s men will have to adjust to life without him quickly, as it looks like it could be out for a while. Tougher tests will lie ahead for Liverpool, but they should totally out-class this Ajax side tonight. Ajax had an excellent run in the season before last, but they sold star players and didn’t perform last season. Liverpool are at a much higher level now, and the 1.77 looks like the best bet of the night.

The Ultra Says:
Four points win Liverpool to beat Ajax at 1.77 on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE
