WEDNESDAY NIGHT LA LIGA: Our football tipster The Ultra previews Wednesday’s La Liga games between RAYO VALLECANO v BARCELONA and REAL MADRID v OSASUNA both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

RAYO VALLECANO V BARCELONA

6pm After an El Clasico weekend, both sides are in action again on Wednesday night and we should have a very interesting evening on BETDAQ Betting Exchange. We start early with Barcelona travelling to take on Rayo Vallecano under immense pressure. Obviously losing El Clasico is always going to cause a big reaction, and we saw that from how the fans treated Ronald Koeman when he was leaving Camp Nou on Sunday. To be honest it’s not his fault to be put in this situation – the fault lies entirely with the board. I understand fans want someone to blame directly after losing a big game, but for example Messi wanted to stay, it’s the boards fault they put the club in a situation that they couldn’t afford to pay him. The Barcelona fans clearly aren’t happy though, and they have a long season ahead.

On the pitch, Barcelona actually didn’t play that badly in El Clasico. I assume the fans reaction was more built up anger rather than the performance on Sunday. They didn’t deserve to lose, and actually finished with a marginally higher xG than Real Madrid. The problem is Barcelona have been average this season – it’s been a dramatic drop, but given the star players they have lost this was always bound to happen. This evening is another good test to see where they stand – Rayo Vallecano are new to La Liga and usually Barcelona would just brush them aside. A price of 1.87 on Barcelona highlights how times have changed. As is always the way, the betting markets react quicker than everything else – the markets know Barcelona are a different side already, maybe a percentage of football fans feel they still had a chance of winning La Liga this season! My bet here is over 2.5 goals at 1.77. This looks very good value – Barcelona won’t sit back, and Rayo Vallecano like to play an open game, I wouldn’t be surprised to see plenty of goals here.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Over 2.5 goals at 1.77 with BETDAQ Exchange.

REAL MADRID V OSASUNA

8.30pm Next we move to Madrid as Real Madrid host Osasuna. It was nice to land out bet on Real Madrid at the weekend in El Clasico, however we lost our bet on Osasuna at the weekend as they were held to a 1-1 draw with Granada. That was disappointing, but they deserved to win looking at the xG figures. In hindsight, it was a fantastic weekend for Real Madrid – after they won El Clasico away from home, Atletico Madrid dropped points at home to Real Sociedad. That leaves Real one point behind Real Sociedad at the top of the La Liga table but they have a game in hand. They have a two point advantage over Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are down in mid-table. Barcelona aren’t a danger to La Liga this season, and with Atletico not really being at their best, the path is clear for Real to win.

The interesting thing about this season is that even with a seemingly massive advantage, Real haven’t been at their best. I’m expecting Real Sociedad to fall away, but maybe Sevilla could get involved at the top. For tonight, I feel Real look a little short here at 1.35. Osasuna have played some nice football this season – they were in 6th after the weekend fixtures and their xG numbers haven’t been bad at all. It’s highly likely that Real will outclass this Osasuna side, I fully accept that, but I don’t think the home side should be as short as 1.35. I feel we’ll have a closer game than those odds reflect and Real are worth a very small lay from a value point of view. We should have a pretty close game here.

The Ultra Says:
One point lay (liability) Real Madrid to beat Osasuna at 1.35 with BETDAQ Exchange.
