CASCARINO CHAMPIONS LEAGUE PREVIEW: Tony Cascarino gives his tips for Matchday Five of the Champions League

Tony’s Top Tip:

Seville have let a lot of players go in recent years and I’ve always said that the team Liverpool got beat by in the Europa League Final is a far cry from that. I saw them against Spartak Moscow and thought they were really disappointing. As for Liverpool, they’re back to almost full strength now. Coutinho has come back, Mane is fit again and Lallana has been on the bench. It doesn’t matter where Liverpool play because they play a style of football that can beat teams away from home, like they did at Maribor when they got seven. They are brave, over adventurous, and you could argue in some cases a little unlucky at times. When they got beat by the incredible Man City team, they did go down to ten men after they had their chances.

What you do know is Liverpool will go to Seville and cause them problems. Salah is in great form and looks like he’s going to score in every game in my opinion. He’s a player I’d want to back every week because he gets so many chances. I just think Liverpool at 2.5, even though it looks like a tough game for them in their group, are capable of winning this. If you remember the game at Anfield, Liverpool could’ve went 3-1 up when Firmino missed a penalty. They should’ve won and had enough chances to win comfortably. I think it’ll be the same tonight, it’s just a matter of whether or not they take their chances, which I think they will.

Tony’s Top Tip:

Back Liverpool @ 2.5

Tony’s Back & Lay for Dortmund v Spurs:

Even though Tottenham have already qualified, I’ve seen Dortmund three or four times this year and they are so suicidal in the way they play that I’m backing Spurs. Dortmund are one of the most open teams I’ve seen in European football. I would lay them at 2.08 and I would also back Tottenham even away from home. Tottenham could easily win there. Forget about the Arsenal result, Tottenham are a far better team and Dortmund leave too much space free.

I saw them play Real Madrid and I was gobsmacked how adventurous they were and to be honest they’ve been like that all season in the Bundesliga. Aubameyang has had his problems and at times looks like he wants to leave the club. They’ve got issues, their coach Peter Bosz, the former Ajax manager, is going to go because there are too many problems there and they’ve just lost their top recruitment guy who is gone to Arsenal. Because of all of this I think Dortmund are the team to lay tonight and on top of that, back Spurs.

Tony’s Best Back & Lay:

Back Spurs @ 3.6

Lay Dortmund @ 2.08
