FALLOUT FROM THE MOURINHO REIGN: Well, did you expect the big news during the week? Sure everybody would say that you saw it coming, but it still comes as quite the shock that Mourinho is no longer the manager of Chelsea Football Club, after being fired for a second time. What does that mean for Chelsea going forward this season and into the future?

SUNDERLAND TO CAPITALISE ON CHELSEA WOES

This will be a strange weekend for Chelsea without Mourinho, when he returned to Chelsea a couple of seasons ago it seemed like it would be a long term installment, but it wasn’t to be. I think there will be even more things different this weekend. I don’t expect to see Hazard on the pitch, injured or not, and there could be many other missing as the fallout from Mourinho’s firing will come to light in the coming weeks.

I really think Sunderland could get something from this game. There has been so much drama in Chelsea that I can see them being caught again as their attention lies elsewhere. On top of that, Big Sam always likes a crack at Chelsea. No matter where he has been in his career he has a good record against the Blues.

On top of this, Chelsea are frankly an average side at the moment. Whether it was all on Mourinho or on the players, it isn’t as easy as flicking on a light switch and everything will go right for them. If you look at Chelsea’s last 7 league games, people say they were unlucky in some games, but they really haven’t been playing good football. united have scored six goals in eight games and their fans are going crazy. Chelsea have scored four goals in their last seven. That is shocking for a team that were champions last year!

Every week we expected a response from Chelsea and it wasn’t evident. I thought the game against Leicester was the time to turn their season around, but after five minutes I knew that wasn’t going to be the case. I don’t think this weekend will be the game to turn their season around, so I am going to Lay Chelsea.

BOURNEMOUTH TO COME BACK TO EARTH

What a two weeks it has been for Bournemouth. Without doubt the two biggest wins in their club’s history two weeks in a row. Beating Chelsea and following that up with a win at Old Trafford. Now what lies ahead of them is a game against West Brom.

Now that doesn’t have the same appeal as the previous two. A Tony Pulis side, away from home after two big wins. No manager would like that fixture. This West Brom team won’t be looking to play football the same as Bournemouth’s previous two opponents. They are a big, physical side and they will set out top prevent Bournemouth playing their brand of football.

This will be a very difficult game for this Bournemouth side who have been flying high of late. I see this as the game where they come crashing back to earth and realise their status. They are a small team playing in the big leagues. West Brom have struggled in the past couple of years, but there is no doubt they are a premier league side. They will be licking their lips when they see this Bournemouth side coming in with their tails up, as they will set out to ruin their party.

West Brom will have too much of a physical advantage over Bournemouth in this one. It will be a proper bottom half of the league clash and I see West Brom being the home side grabbing the win. Lets not forget they are also coming off a big result with their away draw with Liverpool last week, and I see them holding the edge in this one.

ARSENAL TOP DOGS

This is a game between two side everybody expects to be battling for the tile come the end of the season. This has been one of the strangest season in memory with upset after upset, and no team has really been able to gain a stranglehold at the top of the table. Many would think that Arsenal will falter at one stage in the season as the always do, but City don’t look like they would be any more assuring this year.

Looking specifically at this game, I can see Arsenal coming out on top. I think City are just too poor defensively not to ship a couple of goals. Without Kompany they are lost. Whether it be Mangala, Otamendi or Demichelis, they have been awful at the back. They have been giving numerous chances to pretty poor sides.

Then you look at Arsenal, one thing are not is poor. They are beaming with quality, especially going forward. I think Ozil will tear them apart this weekend. He is averaging around an assist every game and has been magic at times. Then it is just up to Giroud, Walcott or whoever to finish it off. Hart has come to the saviour of City in the past few weeks, but I don’t think he will be able to do enough to stop Arsenal.

I definitely see City grabbing a goal, because they have quality going forward as well obviously. Especially with Aguero coming back, they will break the deadlock, but they are in such a spin defensively I can’t see them outscoring Arsenal, so I will back the Gunners to get the win.
