WILL THE RUN CONTINUE Some excellent games to look forward to this weekend, highlighted of course by the top of the table clash between Man City and the in form Chelsea. It looks a good weekend for betting compared to a few of the weekend’s passed, so let’s see where the best bets lie:

Man City v Chelsea

12.30pm Saturday This promises to be a great game. Two of the leaders in the league, and although it is a bit early in the season to say, this game will be massive in determining who lifts the trophy next May. I expect both sides to be right there in contention, when looking at all teams so far I think these are the two best, with Liverpool right behind them. Both sides are in good form, in particular Chelsea who have been beating everything in front of them since changing their formation. When they moved to three at the back with two wing backs they gave themselves a stronger foundation defensively, but as well as this they gave themselves an extra bite going forward. Moses and Alonso are high energy players who work the flanks brilliantly and they make a huge difference on both ends.

Man City have been quite good defensively this year also, with only Chelsea and Spurs conceding less goals so far. Despite this stat, from watching them play this season they are liable to give you a chance or two in a game. They have lapses, whether it be Raul Bravo trying to be too smart, or John Stones making a mistake. You do that against Chelsea with Costa, Hazard etc. around and they will most definitely punish you. City have been good going forward, with De Bruyne looking like on of the best players in the world in the early going of the season. Aguero is always a threat to grab a goal, but he will be up against it with this Chelsea defence. If you watched any of their last eight or nine games you can see that Courtois has hardly even been tested, that’s how good the players in front of him have been performing.

Although Man City have the home advantage here, I think in the form Chelsea are in right now they will really put it up to him. This will be a huge momentum game, City have been stumbling to victories in the past couple of weeks which is important if you are going to win the league. But then you look at Chelsea and they have been by far the better team in every one of their games. With a high price to back the in form side of the Premier League, I am going to have to go with Chelsea here.

Back Chelsea at 3.65.

West Brom v Watford

3.00pm Saturday There is a great price in this game that I don’t think will be there closer to the time of kick-off. West Brom are a strong side in two senses. They have a good team of players, and is the way with a Tony Pulis side, they are very physical. It is certainly a team nobody in the league will like to play against, as they will probably wake up on Monday morning with plenty of bumps and bruises. Their main strength is set pieces as they have lots of height in the team, and they have a couple of exciting players in the side too. For me Rondon has really gone under the radar this season. He has played some excellent games, and gives the West Brom side something different to their sheer brute approach. If you can’t match up with them they can really destroy you as we saw against Burnley recently. At home I think they will be even harder to beat.

Watford have had a good season up to this point. I think a lot of people were a bit worried for them with the turmoil during the off season with their manager change after a successful season last year. I don’t think they have been as good as last year however, with Deeney and Ighalo failing to reach the goal scoring heights of last season. Capuoe has been excellent and has grabbed them some big goals from midfield. They have been pretty up an down recently with their performances, for example getting demolished 6-1 by Liverpool but then following this up by beating last year’s champions Leicester. I would be more confident with West Brom’s form than Watford’s and at the price you can get them I have to go with the home side.

TONY’S BEST BET:
Back West Brom at 2.22.

Everton v Man U

4.00pm Sunday There has been a lot of talk about Man United’s dismal season, including me. Now that I’m look closely however I don’t think things have been as bad as they initially seemed. Sure things have not been great, they have not got the points tally one would expect for the amount of money they have spent. They do not look like they will be challenging for the league this season, but I don’t think they are a million miles off either. You have to look at the opposition throughout the season, somehow each goalkeeper they come up against has the game of their life. But when you look closely things seem to be clicking a bit more for them.

I, along with everybody else, expect Mkhitaryan to start in Goodison Park on Sunday. He has been excellent in the couple of games he has played in for Man United, grabbing two assists and two man of the match awards. He adds something a bit more quality than the other players in his position. He has a great combination of speed and skill. As well as him hitting form, Rooney looks fitter than he had been, so if he starts or comes off the bench he can add something to the team. Ibrahimovic is out of his slump and scoring goals again, and Pogba is growing into his role, all positive sides for Man United.

Everton have been dreadful over the past while. They really look lost as a team and need somebody to step up as a leader which is strange considering the experience they have in the side. Even look at their back four: Coleman is the captain of Ireland, Williams is the captain of Wales, Jagielka is the club captain and Baines is a former club captain. You would think they have enough leaders in the side, but none seem to be stepping up. They have been brushed aside by other top sides, like Chelsea and they are struggling against sides around their own standard such as Southampton. To start the season they looked like they could contend for Champions League, but things have gone completely pear shaped for them. Their only hope is for Lukaku to have his shooting boots on. I struggle to see goals from anywhere else. I can only really see one winner here, I have to go for the away team again. They have been playing much better than Everton and I expect them to pick up a win.

TONY’S BEST BET:
Back Man United at 2.2.
