The first night of the greyhound year on Sky visits Romford for The Coronation Final.
Mark Wallis has Total domination of the feature event with 4 runners and is about 1/12 to land the spoils.I slightly prefer the sole wide runner Tp6 Hometown Honey who might be tapped for toe early but will finish strong as she will stay out the trip well, but I will find it hard to have a bet in it.
We finished last year with a bang but tonight’s card is nigh on impossible!
One race we might have a chance in is the 7.34 400 meters standard. I fancy the even numbers which could be a bit of value at the off on Betdaq, with Trap 6 Poetic Lord my top choice at around 7.0.
Trap 1 Shaneboy Ozzie – ran poor on his latest which could be forgiven, he’s back in his favoured ‘red box’ but needs a massive step up.
Trap 2 Bush Standard – lacks a recent Romford start but is in fine form for new handler Pat Rosney and could also be considered at around 6.0 providing Tp3 doesn’t block his run.
Trap 3 Landed at Last – showing little of late 9 without a win, trap 3 or wider on 11 occasions and only won once.
Trap 4 Guinness Sky – 3/13 at Romford, sluggish starter but trap 3 moving left might its run.
Trap 5 Borna Monty – Top grade local dog for Jim Reynolds but 7 without a win, recovering from lameness and is yet to resume winning ways, Borna would be hard to trust if made fav and I don’t fancy.
Trap 6 Poetic Lord – is my selection 1/13 on UK soil and that was only a maiden. He has a great draw with dogs on his inside moving left. Would need to step up but ran well lately and could prove value at 8.0.
The 8.34 the Multi Marathon is a match between 4 and 6, but there’s no value at the prices.
The 9.04 the standard Marathon I think there’s 2 runners 1 and 6,slightly favouring 1.
Tonight is a tricky introduction to 2014 Sky Dogs, keep stakes to a minimum.
