UEFA NATIONS LEAGUE: We preview Monday’s two UEFA Nations League games between PORTUGAL v ITALY and SCOTLAND v ALBANIA both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

PORTUGAL V ITALY

7.45pm We have another huge clash in the UEFA Nations League on Monday night as Portugal take on Italy. Portugal are yet to play in this competition but warmed up with a 1-1 draw against Croatia on Thursday night. Italy missed out on the World Cup during the summer and have started their campaign on the back foot too with only a 1-1 draw at home to Poland on Friday night.

We have a pretty open market, with the match odds at the time of writing currently trading; Portugal 2.52, Italy 3.4 and the draw is 3.15. Portugal have been very solid in recent years and with Italy going through a period of transition it’s difficult to see an away win here. Portugal at 2.52 is a very tempting bet however we can see this game being a very tight affair – it’s hard to see an open game as Portugal have build their success on being hard to beat and Italy won’t be attacking from the start either. Under 2.5 goals is 1.61 and that looks the best option.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Under 2.5 goals at 1.61.

SCOTLAND V ALBANIA

7.45pm Scotland kick off their UEFA Nations League campaign as Albania come to town. Albania currently sit top of Group C1 after getting off to a winning start at home to Israel on Friday night while Scotland lost 4-0 to Belgium in a friendly. That was a very poor result given Scotland had home advantage but you have to be realistic given the gulf in class between those sides and Albania will be more on their level.

Scotland are odds on favourites, with the match odds at the time of writing; Scotland 1.82, Albania 5.8 and the draw is 3.5. It’s hard to know what to expect from this Scotland side as they’ve had a very poor run in their recent games; however they have been friendlies. No matter what they say, they is always a competitive edge lacking in friendlies – they’ve lost five of their last six – however looking at their competitive fixtures they’re unbeaten in their last six. We can see Scotland getting the job done here against a limited Albania side and with home advantage, we’re happy to back them at 1.82.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Scotland to beat Albania at 1.82.
