UEFA NATIONS LEAGUE: We preview Thursday’s Nations League games between ISRAEL v SCOTLAND and POLAND v PORTUGAL with recommended BETDAQ bets.

7.45pm The UEFA Nations League kicks back into action on Thursday and we start with Scotland traveling to take on Israel. Scotland got off a winning start in Group C1 and they will be hopeful that they can top this Group. Israel started their campaign with a loss to Albania; who Scotland looked quite comfortable with and if truth be told, this is a poor Israel side.

The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Israel 2.7, Scotland 3.05 and the draw is 3.2. Scotland have a pretty good record in competitive games recently, although they have had to play (and lose) a lot of friendlies in between competitive games. We feel that this will be a very close affair, however the value lies with Scotland. Israel have looked poor and they look at least ten or more ticks too short here at 2.7 after seeing them lose to Albania; whom Scotland easily dealt with. Perhaps this has boring draw written all over it but we’re happy to lay Israel at the odds.

Lay Israel at 2.7.

7.45pm Poland are a very tricky side to get right – they have an impressive World Ranking; but they just don’t show up in the important games. It’s fair to say that they have protected that World Ranking and they really shouldn’t have been top seeds at the World Cup – they didn’t even make it out of the Group and looked like a poor side. They have home advantage here; however Portugal are very tough to beat and it will be very interesting to see the tactics from both sides.

We have a very open market, with the match odds at the time of writing currently trading; Poland 2.96, Portugal 2.74 and the draw is 3.25. Much has been written about the importance of Ronaldo for Portugal and they will have to face Poland without their star man – that will be key here. We have really seen Real Madrid struggle this season already without Ronaldo and we could see the same here. Poland are tough to predict however we are happy to lay Portugal away from home here without Ronaldo.

Lay Portugal at 2.74.
