MONDAY
A week of high-quality sport begins with the second day of the US Open last 16 from 16:00 on Monday. Follow the action on Amazon Prime. At 20:00 (Sky Sports), there’s a big clash in the North East as Middlesbrough host Sunderland in the Championship.

TUESDAY
Tuesday brings the first of the US Open quarter finals (17:00, Amazon Prime). At 19:45 (ITV) England’s Women face Luxembourg in a World Cup Qualifier. The Champions League returns and we look set for some brilliant first group game ties. First up Chelsea travel to Croatia to face Dinamo Zagreb (17:45, BT Sport), in a game that Thomas Tuchel will surely be hopeful of taking maximum points from. Then Scottish champions Celtic host Champions League holders Real Madrid in a huge test for the Glasgow side, while Man City are away in Seville for their first game. Catch both live from 20:00 on BT Sport.

WEDNESDAY
Wednesday brings much of the same, with the second day of US Open quarter finals (17:00, Amazon Prime) followed by Champions League action. Rangers have qualified for the Champions League group stages for the first time since 2010 and face Ajax in their first game (17:45, BT Sport). In the later kick-offs, Liverpool are away in Italy as they face Napoli, while Tottenham host Marseille (both 20:00, BT Sport).

THURSDAY
The best golfers in the world are set to descend on the Wentworth Club, Surrey for the BMW PGA Championship. The first round gets underway from 09:00 (Sky Sports) on Thursday. With the series delicately poised, England will be hoping to seal a Test win and series victory when they begin their third and final Test against South Africa at 11:00 (Sky Sports). The first of the US Open semi finals will be on air from 17:00 (Amazon Prime), before the Europa League action begins. Arsenal are up against FC Zurich in an earlier 17:45 kick-off, while Man United and West Ham take on Real Sociedad and FCSB respectively in their 20:00 ties (all on BT Sport).

FRIDAY
Play from the BMW PGA Championship begins at the same time of 09:00 (BT Sport) on Friday, with coverage from the second day of the Test match at The Oval beginning at 11:00 (Sky Sports). There’s more from the US Open (17:00, BT Sport) as well as rugby with Bristol Bears taking on Bath (19:45, BT Sport) and football – Burnley v Norwich (20:00, Sky Sports) – in the evening.

WEEKEND
The golf will be heating up come the weekend and it could be an interesting atmosphere with big egos from the PGA and breakaway LIV Tour facing up to each other. Catch day three from 09:00 on Sky Sports. England continue their play against South Africa at The Oval (11:00, Sky Sports). There’s plenty of football in the afternoon. Rangers play Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership (12:00, Sky Sports), Fulham host Chelsea at 12:30 (BT Sport), before a big clash when Tottenham meet Manchester City (17:30, Sky Sports). There’s also rugby with Leicester Tigers facing Exeter Chiefs at 15:00. The Women’s final from the US Open (21:00, Amazon Prime) rounds off a fine day.

Sunday is another varied day of sport. Play concludes from the Wentworth Club, with coverage of the final rounds beginning at 09:00 on Sky Sports. There’s what could be a crucial fourth day in the Test between England and South Africa (11:00, Sky Sports). West Ham play a strong looking Newcastle side at 14:00 (Sky Sports), by which time the cars in the Italian Grand Prix will be tearing off from the grid (14:00, Sky Sports). Gloucester v Wasps is at 15:00 (BT Sport), while Manchester United travel to Crystal Palace at 16:30 (Sky Sports). The Men’s US Open final (21:00, Amazon Prime) is usually a brilliant spectacle and brings the curtain down on a frantic week of sport.
