WEEK AHEAD: The summer of sport that lies ahead kicks off this week with the conclusion of the French Open, the start of Euro 2020 and more.

First class action with something for everyone this week.

All good things come to those who wait, fortunately there’s not much waiting around this week before the action really begins. Monday eases us into the week gently with the French Open continuing on day 9, and the action from Roland Garros will unfold throughout the week before really heating up over the weekend.

Hungary and Ireland headline Tuesday with their international fixture on Sky Sports whilst Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal are both in action in Paris.

Thursday is a further treat for cricket fans as the second and final Test of the series between England and New Zealand begins and as one series ends another starts as West Indies host South Africa on BT Sport. All five days from both games will be available throughout the week. The Palmetto Championship also gets started with all of the action unfolding daily on Sky Sports.

Friday is the day we’ve all been waiting for as the first game of Euro 2020 begins the competition in earnest, Turkey and Italy have the privilege of kicking things off and their fixture can be seen live on BBC (20:00).

Saturday is another full house with action from the French Open, England at Lord’s, the West Indies, the Palmetto Championship, and three European Championship matches.

Sunday brings yet more Euro fixtures as England finally get their campaign underway against Croatia, the French Open final can be seen from 13:30 where Rafael Nadal will be hoping to feature and extend his impressive record. Both Test matches will hopefully still be going on and the final day of the Palmetto Championship will see us through the evening.

It’s a full-on week of sporting action and something we can get used to seeing as summer comes around.
