WEEK AHEAD: Scottish Football, the FA Cup, and PGA Tour golf are the headliners this week as well as the NFL Pro Bowl.

We’re up in Scotland for the first action of the week, as Hibernian and Hearts fight out the Edinburgh Derby on Tuesday evening at 19:45 on Sky Sports.

Wednesday brings one of the biggest rivalries of them all, with the second Old Firm clash of the season (19:45, Sky Sports), where Celtic will be looking to avenge a 1-0 defeat from the first fixture in August and close the gap on Rangers at the top of the table.

Thursday morning begins with golf as the DP World Tour continues in the UAE, with play getting underway in the first round of the Ras al Khaimah Championship at 08:30 on Sky Sports. That’s followed by the PGA Tour and play from the Pebble Beach Pro-Am at 16:00 on the same channel. In the evening watch the first fixture of the new Premier League Darts season, live from 19:00 on Sky Sports.

The second rounds in the golf see us through to Friday evening. At 19:45, there’s Gloucester v London Irish in the Gallagher Premiership on BT Sport, while over on Sky Sports, Birmingham City take on Sheffield United in the Championship. The fourth round of the FA Cup gets underway with Man United facing a potentially tricky tie against eighth-placed Championship side Middlesbrough. Catch the match from Old Trafford at 20:00 on ITV.

Saturday brings a classic day of FA Cup action, but before that day three in the Ras al Khaimah Championship (08:30) takes centre stage. Then there are two giants versus minnows contests, that kick-off at 12:30. West Ham travel to National League North side Kidderminster Harriers, with the match live on BBC 1. Chelsea host League One side Plymouth Argyle and you can choose to watch that contest on BBC iPlayer. Round three from the Pebble Beach Pro-Am is at 16:00, before the Premier League returns from its two-week hiatus when Burnley take on Watford (17:30, BT Sport), in new manager Roy Hodgson’s first game in charge. The action continues into the evening, with a bout between Chris Eubank Jr and Liam Williams at 19:00 on Sky Sports. Round things off with more from the FA Cup when Tottenham play Brighton (20:00, ITV).

The Ras al Khaimah Championship (08:30) concludes on Sunday. Liverpool and Cardiff City are in action in the FA Cup from 12:00 on ITV. At 13:00 on BT Sport it’s Harlequins v Sale. Golfers at Pebble Beach will be beginning their final rounds just as Nottingham Forest kick-off against Leicester (BBC 1) at 16:00. After knocking Arsenal out in the last round, can Forest claim another famous Premier League scalp?

Then from 20:00 on Sky Sports it’s the NFL Pro Bowl, the third-place play-off between the two losing teams in the Conference Finals.
