WEEK AHEAD: A huge seven days of British sport lies ahead with the second week of Wimbledon running alongside Scottish Open golf, England v India in cricket, and the start of the Women’s Euros.


Who said the summertime sport schedule was quiet? The British summer has well and truly begun and as the temperature rises, so does the heat in some of the most prestigious tournaments in world sport.

We ease into the week on Monday with day four of the fifth England v India Test, as England try to get another win on the board going into a busy few months of cricket. Catch it on Sky from 09:45. Getting into the exciting part of Wimbledon, we will see the second day of the Round of 16 on the BBC from 11:00, with many of the big names set the feature.

Tuesday mirrors Monday with the final day of the Test between England and India starting at 09:45 on Sky and the Wimbledon Quarter-Finals beginning at 11:00 on the BBC.

Wednesday eases us into a hectic tail end of the week with the Wimbledon Quarter-Finals again getting going at 11:00 on the BBC. The England Women’s hotly anticipated UEFA Women’s Euros campaign begins with a game against Austria Women at Old Trafford and is live on the BBC, kicking off at 20:00.

On Thursday, the Scottish Open day one gets underway at 08:00 on Sky and is followed by the Wimbledon Semi-Finals which start at 11:00 on the BBC. In the evening, England play India in the first match of a three-game T20 Series from 17:30 on Sky. The Women’s Euros continues on the BBC at 20:00 where we will see fellow UK compatriots Northern Ireland, take on Norway. There is more golf in the evening as day one of the Barbasol Championship begins at 21:00 (Sky).

The Scottish Open day two kicks off Friday at 08:00 (Sky), while Wimbledon continues from 11:00 on the BBC. The Women’s Euros brings up an interesting fixture with Spain and Finland battling it out at 17:00 (BBC). Germany v Denmark will be the highlight of the evening as they also get their Euro’s campaign underway at 20:00. The Barbasol Championship day two gets underway at 21:00 on Sky.

Saturday will be packed with sporting entertainment as we see plenty of rugby union fixtures. The day starts with New Zealand v Ireland at 07:30 on Sky before the Scottish Open day three gets underway at 08:30 (Sky).

In the rugby, England kick off with Australia at 10:15 on Sky, as the Wimbledon Finals get going on the BBC at 11:00. The England v India T20 Series continues at 14:00 on Sky, before South Africa play Wales at 15:30 on the same channel. The BBC then shows the UEFA Women’s Euro tie between Portugal and Switzerland at 17:00 before Australia and Scotland get going in the rugby at 19:30 (Sky). The evening sees Netherlands take on Sweden in the Women’s Euros (BBC, 20:00) before the third day of the Barbasol Championship (Sky, 21:00).

The weekend closes on Sunday with day four of the Scottish Open at 08:30 (Sky) before the final day of Wimbledon graces our screens from 11:00 (BBC). The England v India T20 Series continues at 14:00 on Sky as we get a dose of high-speed racing in the Austrian Grand Prix (Sky, 14:00). Belgium and Iceland play in the UEFA Women’s Euros at 17:00 (BBC) before France take on Italy at 20:00 (BBC). The evening, and what has been a busy week, is rounded off with the fourth day of the Barbasol Championship (20:00, Sky).
