WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS: We preview Sunday’s World Cup Qualifiers between LITHUANIA V ENGLAND, SLOVENIA v SCOTLAND and NORWAY V NORTHERN IRELAND with a recommended BETDAQ bet for each game.
LITHUANIA V ENGLAND
5pm England bored everyone to tears at Wembley on Thursday night, however Kane saved their blushes when netting a winner in the dying minutes. That winner doesn’t tape over the cracks though, they really created very little and surely they must improve on that if they are to have any chance in Russia. Should Southgate stay on as manger into Russia? That must be a question worth asking now. They face a relatively straightforward task here against Lithuania though who are second last in Group F with only six points after nine games. That being said though, after Thursday night, who would want to back England at 1.36? They may well win, however they created so little during the week that we have to lay them at 1.36 which looks great value.

SLOVENIA V SCOTLAND
5pm What a massive game for Scotland! Their fate is in their own hands after a brilliant 1-0 win at home to Slovakia on Thursday night, really putting them in pole position to get second. However, they need a win here – Slovakia are at home to Malta and are almost certain to win – meaning they would finish on 18 points. Scotland have 17 at the moment, and are behind Slovakia on goal difference too if they draw, so a win is needed and they are currently 2.76 to get it, with Slovenia 2.9 and the draw 3.35. The bad news for Scotland is that Slovenia are yet to conceded a goal at home in World Cup Qualification – quite a feat considering England are in the group, and they beat Slovakia here too. They’re unbeaten in their last ten here, winning nine of these games. This is a massive task for Scotland, and the “need to win” effect is probably making them shorter than they should be. Looking at Slovenia’s home record, Scotland look a great lay at 2.76.

NORWAY V NORTHERN IRELAND
7.45pm Northern Ireland are guaranteed second in Group C, however Germany have bossed the group and really played them off the park when winning on Thursday night. Germany are actually the only team to beat Norway here in World Cup Qualification, so we can expect a very difficult night ahead for Northern Ireland. The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Norway 2.54, Northern Ireland 3.2 and the draw is 3.25. You’d have to say that Northern Ireland have been very impressive in qualifying, and we shouldn’t criticize them too much for not being able to deal with Germany – not many sides can! With Norway’s strong record at home though, we feel that this one is going to be really close, and with the draw trading 3.25 that looks to be where the value lies in this one.
